-Step 1 - remove MY'91 trim piece from fender
-
to get the trim piece off the fender you need to get behind the splash guard inside the wheel-well to pinch together the butterfly fasteners holding the trim piece to the fender
-
the plastic butterfly fasteners used to attach the trim to the fender should be discarded as they are a pain to work with and you will need them removed to complete step 2 , they do pop out with ease
-
you do need a tool for cutting away the fender as there is a void in the fender behind the trim piece that is not large enough to accept the marker light
-
i used a dremmel tool for the entire project with a pile of cutting wheels and the grinder attachments
-
i find the easiest way to fabricate the space for the light is to do this ; remove the 91 trim piece to expose the fender opening
-
remove the plastic butterfly fasteners from the MY'93 trim piece
-
overlay the MY'93 trim piece to the fender where it is to be attached and stencil off the area that needs to be cut or drilled out for the 93marker light to fit flush in the trim piece
-
u will need to drill out new holes where the fastners go as they 're in different places on the trim between years
-
Next
-
cut away the excess metal outlined on the fender where you marked so the marker light fits flush in the trim piece
-
i recommend replacing the butterfly fasteners from the 93trim piece for counter-sunk flathead screws & butterfly nuts when attaching the trim to the fender , - this way you will glue the marker-light onto the trim piece permanently , then attach it to the fender
-
to remove the marker light in the future for changing the bulb , all you need do is un-screw the butterfly nuts in behind the fender that are holding the unit to the fender , and it will fall out together with the marker light
Done

did i mention i used butterfly nuts ?
