Man, I really wanted to put one of these motors in my car. But the amount of work and my lack of experience held me back.

Maybe some day.

Are you going to make this a build thread and move it to the build section?

Exactly, you just contact him and tell him you want to start a build thread. But you have to update it and do mods on your car.

I'd say an H6 swap is a pretty good mod lol.

What are you doing about the radiator? I'm in charge of all the Fab work for putting the 3.3 in my friends 97 Legacy Wagon. I Know how I'm doing mine, I'm just curious to see other ideas.

Dont' want to thread jack, but here's how we're doing it.

Well, Stat's fab work is primarily farmed out to me, and he's out of town for work so here's what I got done tonight.

We figured out that we could use the stock bosses in the Radiator where the condensor is supposed to bolt on to it. This ment adding some tabs to the core support to utilize those bosses.

Image

To get the radiator to fit vertically in front of the support, I had to cut out the pinch weld and front section of the lower support

Image

Image

I had to cut the 3 lower grill mounts, and the inner most headlights off to get them to fit on. The bumper beam is going to need to be trimmed at the pinch weld to get the Rad sitting vertically as well.

Image

The upper radiator hose is almost perfect! I mounted the rad just low enough to easily get the upper hose on.

Image

On the inner side of the core support, we'll have to wrap the hose and trim a little metal so that the hoses doesn't rub.

Image

That's all I got done tonight. I'm hoping tomorrow evening I can build the lower mounts and start trimming the bumper beam and the black plastic bumper beam as well.

Has anyone tried sizing a different radiator or getting a custom one made? All the places want designs for quote submissions, but they might not be too bad.

hmm thats looks really good :D

im going to just use my turbo legacy radiator if i can, i need to find longer coolant hoses though since i doubt they will be long enough.

wiring is definatly killing me right now. im using the stock legacy wiring harness and the svx ecu. i think ill have the first turbo eg33 legacy, when they are turbo they sound soooooo sick...

i also have to make custom head pipes since i have the turbo crossmember, im going to try and make un-equal length sized pipes i think...

I'm confused. Why are you posting pictures of a different car in your build thread?
