Where'd you pick up the automotive grade black tape? I've tried Schucks and Autozone and either they didnt carry anything up that alley or the employees were incompetant.

Removing Rubber Glue Gunk

Well the chrome strip on my front bumper started to come loose and peel off so I figured it was the queue to begin the dechroming process I had been intending to start for a while. I peeled off the front bumper chrome strip and all the rubber glue gunk adhesive underneath either peeled off or came o...

I'd take either over my current blue plastic :\ I guess its the daily reminder of the age of my car.

Personally I prefer black of the two. Something clean about it.

Meguir's No. 9 Scratch and Swirl Remover Clay Bar Mother's Reflections A great way to take 5-10 years off a paint job. But it requires a LOT of elbow grease and probably around 3 hours of your time, but the results are pretty impressive. It won't take out dents of scratches that made it through the ...

I think it looks good. The only sticking point for me is that the trim is a slightly different black than the plastic around it. Some armor all or something could probably fix that.

Not quite. Around here people at least have the common sense to use pinstriping. Its a lot thinner, darker, and glossier than electrical tape.

How'd you dechrome the door handles? Scuff the chrome and have a body shop paint match it to the body color?

Wow, timely responses!

That looks really clean, looks like I've found my next project. Did you paint the whole vinyl strip so that the black was uniform or just mask off and paint the strip?

Blacking Out Chrome Strip

I've heard of people blacking out the chrome strip on their 92-94 legacys, but I'm not sure what paint I should use to adhere to a chrome surface. Any recommendations?

It's the DEH-340. Thanks for the tips on the amp. Its starting to look like more than I wanted to spend, but I guess on the bright side I can carry all this equipment into my next car down the road as well.

Thanks for all the opinions guys, its really helped. I'm not looking to spend too much, not too much of an audiophile. Here's what I'm looking at right now: -A basic 6 1/2" Pioneer upgrade for all the speakers. I chose them because their RMS matches pretty well to my deck. (26watt for the deck ...

Sound System Advice

I've had a 92 Legacy L sedan for about a year know. I absolutely love driving the car, but the sound has left something seriously lacking. I replaced the stock radio with a Pioneer Premiere CD deck that puts out 50 watts a channel. I've now got the pennies saved up to take the next step. I want to r...
