There are officially six different BEP's, plus a DIY model, each of them intended for a different Turbo. All new BEP's will be stamped with a code (one thru six, at the moment) to indicate which version it is. It is not just the extension of the baffle that changes, but also it's length and its orie...

Klienkid:

Suggest you check all the turbo bolts, just in case things might have loosened up, and that accounts for the hissing. I believe that the torque should be 35 ft/lbs.

Thanks for the comments

Thanks to all who've said good things about the CES systems. Though I'm glad it's not my day job, I'm also happy to bring such a great product into the hands (or onto the cars) of such deserving folks.

Yeah, and you gotta love that sound.

Here's the deal, as I see it. Cop A (the off-duty guy) decides to play Johny Vigilante, chases you around the highway network (no doubt, exceeding the speed limit), yelling and screaming at every chance he gets (just to make absolutely certain that you will NOT repond in any passive way), while call...

my 2 cents

Matt: The ONLY way to make this go away (IMHO) is to find a lawyer who's connected to the judge or JP who will be presiding over the case. You can try other strategies, but it (using the other side of the budy system) is the only thing that WILL work. Whether we like it or not (and I think it stinks...

stealth mod?

Sounds like a cut out, to me. JC Whitney sold cable operated "Y" valves that you could put in a standard exhaust pipe, and operate the valve by pulling on the cable handle (neatly hidden along the side of you seat??). I installed one on a friends 283 Impala. Lots of noise. No power. On the...

Several Legacy street systems have been recently shipped, to places like Denver and Bremerton, WA, and hopefully they will lead to some additional postings of performance results and installation details. It would be nice to get the word out, good or bad. I'm working on trying to compile all the ins...

backfire source?

In a fuel injected, computerized, modern system, backfires should be non-existent. Among other things, I would think that any CAT matrix would take unkindly to that sort of abuse. Even if there is extra fuel getting into the exhaust, somehow (valves, stuck injector, etc.), you'd also need some sourc...

Which brings up a whole other issue, and that is how to best measure (and WHAT to measure) when it comes to so-called torque values (I'm in the bolt/stud stretch camp, on this). Serious stuff, worth discussing. But it seems we've gotten off-topic. on which I assume we both agree, that the right (hig...

I know, it sounds weird, but it is a very good idea. Don't take my word, though. Googel this: "lug nut anti seize" and see what the consensus is.

Speaking of removing old nuts.....

Matt: The anti-seize is the better choice, I think, because it is made to maintain the electrical "bond" in the thread area, between the sensor and the (OK, I've said it) bung. With anything using low voltage (as opposed to things like plugs, that operate on high voltage), all the connecti...

installing sensors

There are a couple of things that are worthwhile keeping in mind, when dealing with O2 sensors. We have a note in our installation sheet, as follows: Ordinary anti-seize compounds should not be used on O2 sensors. Use a recommended sealant (such as Permatex Ultra-Copper High-Temp Sealant), and apply...

We've had the CES Racing (WRX) exhaust on our STI, and it went on just fine. There is an issue, but it is not with the fit. There are reports of boost creep with free-flowing 3" systems on the STI, and there is some evidence of boost spiking. We think we know how to fix the spike (simple "...

Just to let you know, for those that have been following this little saga, the insurance company "Officially" totaled the STI, and placed a value of (drum roll please) $29k. When I factor out the salvage value (thats what I have to give back because I WANT THAT CHASSIS), it's still enough ...

Yeah, well, we haven't gotten to the really good part yet. You know, the part where they offer me 13.5K for a year old Impreza (It's an Impreze, ain't it??). There is still some life in this story. Just have to keep my sense of humor, right. I figure that the chassis is worth 6-8 (more if you could ...

So.... I was just getting comfortable, 'round 9 PM, when the phone rang, and the guy on the other end says, "Do you own an 04 Subaru? It was the cops, and they wanted me to know that my STI was in a field, not far from my house, stripped. The thing is (as I told them) that the car was ALREADY S...

FYI CES builds it's systems w/o any flex joints, and they've been doing so for many years (on Liberty,WRX and STI's in Australia) without issue. Some people feel strongly that flex joints (after the cross member) are needed (maybe to allow for poor alignment?). Though it (the flex joint) will de-cou...

The way I understand the wastegate/main flow separation issues is, as follows: 1. Wastegate exhaust flows with higher pressure (and lower volume) than the main exhaust from a turbo. 2. The stock exhaust system (with the flat "deflector" plate opposite the wastegate opening) was designed WI...
