Thanks for the comments
Thanks to all who've said good things about the CES systems. Though I'm glad it's not my day job, I'm also happy to bring such a great product into the hands (or onto the cars) of such deserving folks.
Yeah, and you gotta love that sound.

my 2 cents
Matt:
The ONLY way to make this go away (IMHO) is to find a lawyer who's connected to the judge or JP who will be presiding over the case. You can try other strategies, but it (using the other side of the budy system) is the only thing that WILL work. Whether we like it or not (and I think it ...

stealth mod?
Sounds like a cut out, to me. JC Whitney sold cable operated "Y" valves that you could put in a standard exhaust pipe, and operate the valve by pulling on the cable handle (neatly hidden along the side of you seat??). I installed one on a friends 283 Impala. Lots of noise. No power.
On the other ...

backfire source?
In a fuel injected, computerized, modern system, backfires should be non-existent. Among other things, I would think that any CAT matrix would take unkindly to that sort of abuse. Even if there is extra fuel getting into the exhaust, somehow (valves, stuck injector, etc.), you'd also need some ...

The anti-seize is the better choice, I think, because it is made to maintain the electrical "bond" in the thread area, between the sensor and the (OK, I've said it) bung. With anything using low voltage (as opposed to things like plugs, that operate on high voltage), all the connections need ...

installing sensors
There are a couple of things that are worthwhile keeping in mind, when dealing with O2 sensors. We have a note in our installation sheet, as follows:
Ordinary anti-seize compounds should not be used on O2 sensors. Use a recommended sealant (such as Permatex Ultra-Copper High-Temp Sealant), and ...

Just to let you know, for those that have been following this little saga, the insurance company "Officially" totaled the STI, and placed a value of (drum roll please) $29k. When I factor out the salvage value (thats what I have to give back because I WANT THAT CHASSIS), it's still enough to buy ...

So....
I was just getting comfortable, 'round 9 PM, when the phone rang, and the guy on the other end says, "Do you own an 04 Subaru?
It was the cops, and they wanted me to know that my STI was in a field, not far from my house, stripped.

You mean you want one of the bulletproof, 7 speed sequential gearsets, with the paddle-actuated hydraulic shifters, I stuck in my suitcase?
Two of my three sons are part of MSR -- Jon; here in the US, and Ken, in Australia. We're always looking to find more stuff, and we're willing to get it ...
