Re: kimokalihi's 91 SS EJ20 Swap
If you've removed the dash before, you should be able to completely remove it yourself in under an hour if motivated. In your case, you might be able to only loosen that side without taking everything else out. It's worth a shot. The is a big sticker on the box that indicates the cruise control func...

Re: kimokalihi's 91 SS EJ20 Swap
The cruise control computer is on the passenger side just underneath the lower right part of the dash. I don't think you can get it out without at least freeing that side of the dash. Could be wrong though.

There is enough room on the driver's side for the battery and to keep those things you want, even the multi-tray.

Re: UHEV Legacy Version 2.0
Battery will be in the trunk. I'll weld some studs to the main unitbody rail area for my grounds by the battery. I have five ground from the engine to the body. One from each head, one from the block, one on the intake, and the one on the starter. I still have the power cable I used last time, which...

It's actually kind of relaxing compared to turning wrenches and cutting/grinding metal. Just tedious and takes a while.

Outback H6 VDC exhaust
My Outback Sedan VDC with Magnaflow muffler and Vibrant bottle-style resonator (replacing a factory silencer). The cats keep it fairly quiet up top, but I'm pleased with it overall. It is very quiet at light cruise.

I also picked up a fuel pump and controller so I can run E85 if I choose to. It depends on what I achieve on pump gas and how hard I want to push the motor.

I talked to Josh a few days ago. He said I should update this thread or else... :smt064 I've had significant progress since October, but most of it is not picture worthy. In the last 1.5 months, I've spent 30-40 hrs on my wiring. Wiring is not a sexy component to work on by any means, but the more y...

Re: planing on building a second motor
Thanks Delta. fasterthanyou, Engine management for the three cars other than mine was the Hydra 2.6. That system provides enough control, especially when Phil from Element Tuning tunes two of them and was scratching his head. My system runs a Link Plus G2, but it really doesn't matter. Fuel is fuel,...

Re: planing on building a second motor
I was making more power with my 22T heads and Delta cams than more boost and a larger turbo on 25D heads. thats because your compression ratio took a huge hit That doesn't explain the major discrepancy in air/fuel ratio. Nor do you comment on the obvious difference in those two camshafts. Also, the...

Re: planing on building a second motor
N/A cams really do handicap these engines. There have been several instances locally where N/A cams limited the engine to about 300whp, all with 30R+ sized turbos. Derek and I were at 28 psi and only making 300 whp, using a GT3782. AFR was in check, but the wideband was lying to us. The wideband was...

Re: Anybody use shims/washers with their Delta Cam Regrinds?
Sounds like it might need a little more fuel. Don't be afraid be a little rich of stoich at idle with those cams.
Also, what kind of spark advance are you running at idle? IIRC, I was around 16-17 degrees with those cams.

Max, I took a spill Memorial weekend into a landscape barrier and wrecked my thumb pretty bad. It can take 5-9 months for stiffness to subside from a severe sprain. Made some brackets yesterday for my Hallman boost controller and Link MAP sensor. http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u149/piddster/2poi...

That kit is well worth the money. I did three sets of headlights with the supplied abrasives, and touched mine up again a couple times with the Trizact pad and compound.

Re: UHEV Legacy Version 2.0
Been a little while. Sorry guys. My left thumb is severely sprained and has been a serious detriment to my car progress. I've been wearing an aluminum brace for 2.5 months, and it might take 3 times that to get back to normal. Anyways, I've been picking away at what I can. I wrecked my turbo intake ...

Re: How to clean carbon buildup from heads/pistons @ home?
Lots of hearsay, rumors, etc is what has been posted here. If oven cleaner kept eating into the aluminum after use, that means the user did not clean it off properly. Liberal use of water eliminates the chemical. Keep in mind most people can't do a proper brake job, let alone do something like this....

Re: How to clean carbon buildup from heads/pistons @ home?
Seriously, do not use an abrasive pad. Uhhhhh. Go to the grocery store and get yourself a can of oven cleaner, like EasyOff, and go to town. Don't let it sit too long. It takes about two minutes to get most of the carbon. Apply again to get the rest. Use a plastic bristle brush to loosen things up.

I would try to keep the stock BPV if possible. Some will say it doesn't affect anything, but they haven't exactly analyzed their exhaust.

Re: 4eat N/A and Turbo
In the turbo Legacy auto, there is an extra disk in the forward clutch, which is used in gears 1-4. The high clutch has an extra disk, which affects gears 3 and 4. The brake-band servo piston is larger, and the transfer clutch has an extra clutch.
