Ok, this makes sense to me. Your explanation fits really well with what actually happens when I start the car when cold. So where can I find this coolant sensor? Is it hard to replace? I know w store here that sells 2nd hand Japanese car stuff, they probably have another sensor for me.

Let me get this straight....is it possible that my problem (which is basically a rough start when cold) is caused by this coolant sensor? Correct me if I'm wrong, but if this sensor is broken my engine would become too hot, or wouldn't get hot at all, right? I'm asking this, because the temp of the ...

Difficult cold start

Hi! My '92 Legacy 2.0 GL (no AWD) is not starting as smooth as it should. That is: when cold, I turn the key, engine drops and almost stalls, the check oil on my dash lights up, then it revs to about 1500 rpm, drops again and allmost stalls, and finally starts running smooth, about 1200 rpm slowly d...

'Squeeking' sound and restriction when reversing

Hi, my '92 N/A Legacy 2.0 GL makes a squeeking sound when cold, sounds like it's coming from the clutch. With the gear in 2nd, and letting come up the clutch pedal the sound is there until I don't have my foot on the clutch pedal anymore. The clutch is not slipping, and after I've driven for about 5 ...

still wind noise coming from near the left side-mirror

I still hear lots of wind noise near the left side mirror. The rubber thing that connects the hole in de side of the dashboard with the left front door seems to be ok. I even tried the trick of putting ground-wire behind the rubber door seals like I read here on the forum. But...still wind noise! Al...

ventilation noise inside

Ok...I'm going to try to explain in some kind of Dutch-English again what problem I have  The small ventilation part on the drivers door, right under where the glas ends, at the front is making a lot of noise at high speed (about 75 - 80 mph, on the highway). It sounds like wind is coming thro...

Yea, it does that sometimes, when it's less cold outside I guess. This morning seemed to be quite cold (about 7 degrees Celcius below zero) so it started revving between 1400 and 600...

jojo-effect

Since I'm Dutch, I'm not sure how to describe this. When I cold start my Legacy 2.0 GL the tachometer goes jojo-ing between 600 tpm and about 1400 tpm. It's like the engine is revving without me pushing the gaspedal. As the engine gets warm this stops, and it runs 700 tpm steady. Is this bad? A leak...

Those chirping tires could be due to worn tires too...
I didn't remove my snorkus for more power, I did it for more sound and I have to say the result is kinda disappointing...maybe there's a very slight increase of 'growl' when you put the pedal to the metal...

Can you post a pic of your snorkus mod? I took mine out, tookthe pipe out of the box, cut it at the bottom of the U, and put the pipe back so the engine will not suck hot air...BUT...I'm afraid it will suck moist air, because the intake is at a much lower point than it was originally...

Ok, did it! Cut mine at the bottom of the U, and put it back in, without the resonance box around the pipe. I guess the airflow should be a bit better now. Resetted the computer and went for a drive. I didn't notice any change of sound or increase of power or something..in fact, I didn't notice any ...

snorkus...get rid of it or leave it where it is?

Hi! I'm from The Netherlands, I drive a Sub Legacy 2.0 GL. Completely stock, except for the wheels. On this forum I read a lot about removal of the snorkus thing, and the general idea on this forum was 'get rid of it'. However, on the DutchSubaru forum I read that it's not a good idea to remove the ...
