Re: Bad struts on a 92 Legacy Wagon. Upgrade for towing?

Stock springs with gr-2's should do fine for a small trailer. be careful to balance it properly or it may try to get away from you. . .

Re: Bad struts on a 92 Legacy Wagon. Upgrade for towing?

Holy resurrected thread Batman! The engine and transmission on these cars will pull a lot more than the suspension can handle. GR2s is good, but not the 2" lowering. you will be constantly bottoming out the struts, and will likely cause damage to the car that way, not to mention the likelihood ...

UPDATE: I changed out the battery and the CD head is not operating normally, so I will likely not be updating the radio in my car for a while. I happy with the original unit as long as it is working, so I'll stay with that. This is just a bit more of what can happen from a marginal battery.

Yeah, the DVD function is not of the greatest importance to me. Sound is more important, and USB. I don't look at wattage much, as the form factor for the speakers does not provide many options in high wattage units. I do want the unit to sound good, d you have a recomendation for a brand that sound...

Well I hate to break out a lame saying but it applies to this "A good stereo system is only as good as the weakest link in the chain". So, this being said you should look at how much you plan on spending. if its only in the budget to get average equiptment as a whole then it doesn't make ...

pyle is not the best name brand out there if you ask me but it depends on the rest of your system (if any). If you are just replacing the head unit and have just factory speakers and no amps then any will do I guess. Please list your whole system. The whole system as it stands? OEM everything. As I...

Oh, I would, believe me. They are like $100 cheaper that way. The manual shows a video jack on this thing (in the back) Could it be that this will play DVDs or should I go for the DVD unit instead? If I go with te DVD unit, I'd get a flip-down monitor (probably 6.5". anything larger would be si...

ICE question: Is this headunit any good?

I'm wondering if anyone knows anything about this company and the quality of thier units? is the sound quality good? How well do they hold up? How is real-world function, as opossed to what is advertised? http://www.pyleaudio.com/itemdetail.asp?brand=pyle&cat1=Car%20Audio&cat2=Radios&mod...

Yes, with a compression test what you are looking for is relative equality of pressure instead of a particular number. These guages vary quite a bit from unit to unit, and I would not worry unless you have one hole that is way high or way low. Also, a compression test is all but useless on an engine...

If you crank the engine over without the timing belt attached, there is no-interference. If you were to mis-align the timing belt on assembly, you could have the valves hit the pistons. But you just use a new EJ22E timing belt and line up the lines, and voila... Are you sure the EJ22e belt will fit...

I have no idea of the model year. Does it make that much of a difference? Yes, as the model years you mentioned only use one O2 sensor for fuel trim. the second one (which really should be a 4 wire unit) is to monitor the efficiency of the cat (to get a finer tuning of the fuel mix, and to determin...

We parted out a car at the yard I work for (they do transplants of Subie engines from totaled cars into other vehicles). it had a deflector on it so I grabbed it and put it on my car. Advice needed from the masters of all things Subaru

My left rear strut was binding and needed to be replaced now . Since I do not have the cash available I grabbed a set from a similar car and put them on. There is the catch: my car is a 92 Legacy wagon, and the donor car is a 91 Legacy wagon. The difference in the springs (as far as I can tell) is t...

deposits buildup and why I'm switching to synthetic

For a while now I have heard this loud tapping at low RPMs and I was worried that I had the infamous "Tick of Death". Then I read (either here or USMB) where someone had the ball valve on the bottom of one of the lash adjusters stuck in place with deposits. My engine has 160;000 miles on i...

Rear "door open" swich has no effect, pinouts for

I need the pinouts for the liftgate on a 92 Legacy L wagon to help me in diagnosing an electrical problem with the switch that shows weather the gate is open or not. Backstory: the original owner did not care much about bodywork so three passenger doors and the liftgate were pretty crunched up. I wa...

As for if they will fit? I dunno, they do not give enough specs to tell. Other than that, I have to say that I'm in the "they just do not fit the style of the car" camp, myself. They are far too gaudy and make the rest of the car look cheap in comparison. It is possable that you could spen...

AT but maybe the harness is the same? its an unused connector, its tied w/ the stereo wiring.
