every gotten to drive one of those? They're the future--- i like them in the twisties better than my real manual.evolutionmovement wrote: You noticed that too? How many more years before you can't even get a new car with a manual? A real manual, not that clutchless so-my-too-lazy-to-learn-wife-can-drive-it crap.

I think a huge part of it is just how engines are now. Port matching, compression bumping, etc just won't provide the gains on a typical modern sedan any more because they're already pretty well set up. That stuff is good for the last ounce, but the last ounce isn't very important to anyone who has ...

sky is the limit for spending on suspension. Question is if you can drive well enough and are in a setting where you can 1)descern a difference 2)tell if the difference is good or bad and 3)need the performance edge. IMHO a reasonably soft and fairly low budget suspension is going to perform just as...
Dude, i just got a new mtb too. '06 Marin nail trail . Really dig the hydraulic opposed piston brakes (onefingerstoppingomg!) And wish i could figure out if i can change to a stiffer spring in the fork. My fat ass really makes the front end dive under heavy braking. Already have 2 miles of vertical ...

Why not run wrx agx, wrx springs, and some 20mm bars? That would ride well, maintain a decent ride height, and resist roll. The adjustable shocks + tire pressures should be plenty to fiddle with how the car handles. You could even crank up the shocks when you want it to ride like shit and provide th...

Mechanics' policy of ignoring the owners' theories?
Is there just some tradition of ignoring whatever an owner theorizes about a problem? It seems that every time i need to rely on a pro, i usually know what's going on, and say as much. Every time though, the mechanic comes back to me with a different reason that im experiencing whatever it is, and (...
