I would like to get an aluminum tank that fits the oem pressure cap. I searched the vendor forums and ebay but didn't come up with anything. Any ideas or known pr...

running poorly when cold, under load, hot restart

93 EJ22-t Mods: DP/EX, BOV, fuel pump. Good compression, new wires plugs. Known issues: Slight oil consumption smoke on startup assumed to be valve guides. Car lurches slightly and strugles to get above 3500 rpm before it's compleatly warmed up. this is no big deal to me as I try to warm her up befo...

I filled the loose sloppy 100,000 mile mounts on my Mazda with Polly. It worked great, noticably reduced rocking. The mounts are now a few years and 37,000 older and are back to about the same condition as before I filled them. So yah filling mounts can work great, but it definatly depends on the mo...

15 psi should be fine considering all the stuff you are upgrading (intercooler, fuel, EM, turbo). Assuming you don't screw anything up, 15 psi should be pretty conservative. Lots of people run 15-16 psi with less infrastructure upgrades. I don't think the mileage is too much of an issue. The age of...

Go to an automotive pain supply store and pick up some "aircraft" stripper. It comes in paint on form, or aerosol can. Just spray/dab that stuff on and wait till the old paint bubbles off. then clean up with a wire bursh, sand the wheels (ruff them up a little to give the primer somthing t...

Fixed !!!!

I fixed the pinging problem!!

It turns out it WAS a faulty coil.

The coil must have been leaking voltage to the wrong leads.

I swaped a junkyard coil on and the problem went away.

I guess a voltage leak would also explain the wacky timing readings.

Thanks for the help.

I'm new to these engines but learning. The engine runs great onder little/no load. When I give a little bit too...
