Are you by any chance referring to the inner CV joint and how it attached to the tranny? that is the only roll pin I am aware of with dealing with axles and CV joints on Subaru.

Mileage unknow. the turbo looks clean no shaft play. the motor that it came from had ~130K miles but i have a feeling the turbo is newer than the engine.

if you decide to go with a USDM new style coolant crossover pipe you will need to pickup a 1/8”-28 BSP tap and appropriate drill bit for the cluster temperature gauge sensor. Assuming you care for the temperature gauge in the cluster. My advice would be to drill and tap 1/8NPT and install a sender f...

Usually this happens when your coolant lines are old. The only way to avoid it is to replace all the coolant lines with new ones in one shot. Otherwise you can expect another one to blow sooner or later when you replace another one until most of the lines are of uniform strength.

The gouge doesn't look that deep. It almost looks like you could mill the block down and compensate with a custom thick copper head gasket. And just for good measure you could get the block o-ring. I don't know if all the machining cost will be worth it for trying to save the block. but i am guessin...

The labels are somewhat wrong on the picture. The bottom one (the one label coolant) is actually the oil return line. There is only one coolant line and that is the middle one. And the top one is the oil feed.

I was thinking of making a replacement that incorporated the coolant tank into the windshield washer fluid tank. Have them occupy the same space, but sectioned off for both fluids. Also, that would give me heated windshield fluid..... The problem I would see with it is that the Coolant tank has to ...

I see. That makes a lot of sense. I didn't realize that the base piece was plastic. I haven't yet received my pump. thanks

josh,
I was looking at this picture

Why the hose clamps around the pump? You don't think the four bolts on the pump mount bracket would be secure enough?

What did you use do connect the turbo to the AWIC inlet? (Can you take a closer picture of that area)

I am guessing that your car has an automatic tranny, if not how much clearance do you have between the AWIC intake tube and the master clutch reservoir?

And what are you doing to support the AWIC?

Potential replacment for coolent tank

I found this product on eBay that seems like a potential replacement for the legacy plastic coolent tank. Anyone care to throw there 2 cents. Could this work, why and why not? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/RESERVOIR-TANK-AIR-CATCH-TANK-300ZX-350Z-240SX-200SX_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ46098QQihZ017...
