Hi guys. Thanks for the feedback. You fellas are right in saying that you need a heap of oil to do some damage. I have since found out it was some nasty little deposits in the gas tank that wrecked the gas pump. now Im going places alot faster with less foot on the gas pedal.

HELP!!!! My engine has stopped

I have a BD5 twin turbo and I did the unthinkable and over filled the engine oil by about half a liter (no excuse is good enough for this sad treatment). I travelled about 300kms then it sounded like I was running on 3 cylinders then I crawled to a stop. It didnt over heat. I drained off the excess ...

keyless entry problem

for some reason my keyless entry works when it wants to. I have a BD5 sedan. The sensor is situated with the map lights on the ceiling. I can sit in the car and press the key and lock/unlock the doors (so there is no chance of interference from the window) then suddenly it doesn't work. It might sto...

noise from suspension

This just started today. Everytime I go over a bump I get a knocking noise from the suspension (I'm guessing its the suspension) on the front right. My guess is that the bushes have gone. If this is the problem, has anyone had a go at replacing them? Is it a difficult job? Before the knocking sound ...

Hi guys, Sorry for being vague with my description of the problem. It doesnt make the noise from cold. subyluvr2212 you are on to it, I have narrowed it down to the A/C. I drove with it off on a long run and no noise. I turned on the A/C and the noise started up. Maybe Im low on refridgerant gas. I ...

Hi guys, thanks for the tips. It makes the sound when its cold or hot when it is idling. There is No smell of oil. Im thinking maybe there is some oil residue from when I replaced the oil filter. (it was a messy job with oil running out when I unscrewed it) Mark

strange noise under the hood

A strange noise has just started under the hood. It an intermitent crackling sound which kind of sounds like hot cooking oil when you drop some water into it. Its not loud but loud enough for me to pick it up. It makes the sound about every few seconds. It sounds like it is coming from somewhere at ...

Hi Stant093,
Thanks for the tip. I dont have clips so I will have another close look for the bolts. On the 4 corners on top there are round bolt heads that almost look like alan-key holes in the center. I dont know if these are the ones you are talking about but I will go exploring. Thank you.

dumb question about air filters

I looked around my air filter housing (rectangle in shape) and a bit unsure how you open it up to throw in a new filter. As you can tell I'm only onto my first legacy. Mark

Hi guys, thanks for the advice. The skid plate came off with ease and the filter was hanging down and after a bit of a wrestle came off. One of the easiest changes I have done. I had a Honda and doing a filter change on one of those is really frustrating. Thanks for the horror stories. Yet more good...

gurgling noise behind the dash

i noticed a water gurgling kind of noise behind the dash in the car. it only started after i had a faulty thermostat replaced. i think it could be air mixed with water somewhere. I would appreciate it if anyone has experienced this and has any ideas on how to fix it (or does it need fixing?) thank you
