Free - B10 Scan Cable
I sold my last gen 1 legacy and no longer need this. It is a cable I made that connects the Subaru scan port to the parallel port of the computer so you can see live data using the B10 scan tool which can be downloaded here. https://www.surrealmirage.com/vrg3/b10scan/ Make sure to set your parellel ...

Redondo Beach CA - WTB Camshaft Sensor and harness/line
Hi,
Need a Camshaft Position Sensor and harness/line from a 90-94 Legacy. I believe NA and turbo are the same.
Thanks,
Glenn

Re: 1993 NA EJ22 Oil Leak - Passenger Side
I haven't worked back there in a while but I think part of the CAM is rotating there. Don't want RTV in the engine oil galleries but it is probably okay. The correct part number is 806946030. Item #3 in this diagram http://opposedforces.com/parts/legacy/us_b11/type_3/engine/camshaft_and_timing_belt/...

Re: 2.2 fails to run.
Have you tried running it with the MAF not hooked up.
I think it will run and it would rule out the MAF and wiring if it still dies.

Re: 2.2 not pulling coolant from overflow, continues to purg
Also, not to step on anyone's toes, buy flushing the system and replacing the thermostat is a waste of time and money with the symptoms you have. If the car is running at normal temperature I can guarantee the thermostat is opening. Your motor is pushing fluid past the radiator cap because the press...

Re: 2.2 not pulling coolant from overflow, continues to purg
IMHO, you most definitely have a HG leak. And if you are loosing as much fluid as you say you are it is at the point of reasonably bad. If you want to be certain you can get a block leak detector kit which allows you extract air from the cooling system via the rad cap and pass it through a fluid to ...

Re: 1990 - 1994 Subaru Legacy Front Wheel Bearing Replacemen
As an update on Timken Bearing Seals for our cars, I needed to replace a bearing on my parents legacy and was in a pinch. I noticed that Timken had a new part number for the seals. I ordered them and I am happy to report that they are the exact same design as the OE seal.

Re: Group N Mounts
I have the Rallitek mount insert in 01 H6 Outback. I have the racing version. I can feel every piston fire at idle....
Overtime though it has softened a bit, but it basically turns the 4EAT mount into a solid piece. Originally I thought it was too harsh, but now I like it.

Free 93 FWD 4EAT Transmission for parts
I swapped this because it lost reverse. Still drove fine going forward so it was most likly the rear clutches burned out. Maybe useful to someone doing rebuilds or need parts.
I am in the Los Angeles area.

WTB FWD 4EAT
Need a FWD 4EAT for my 93 Legacy. I think any FWD 4EAT ever made will work. I'm in SoCal if there is anyone that has one. Looking for something local but would consider having it shipped.

Re: Timing is done, car won't start.
You need 3 things for a car to start. Fuel, spark and compression. It sounds like you are convinced you have compression based on the sound the motor is making when it is turning over. Have you verified spark? Try pulling a plug and laying it on the engine and see if it sparks when the motor turns o...

Yeah, my research pointed to all FWD 4EAT's have 3.90 gears. I just found a 96 with even less miles. I'm going to grab that.

Re: 4EAT Replacement Options
I have been doing a lot of reading and it seems like almost any 2WD Impreza or Legacy trans from 90-98 should fit mechanically and electrically. The only difference will be the drive ratio. I have found a 93 Impreza 1.8L 2WD trans locally for a reasonable cost with low miles. Should I go with this? ...

4EAT Replacement Options
Just lost reverse on my 93 L 2WD with 225k. Considering either rebuilding transmission myself or replacing with a lower mileage unit. After cost and time considerations I am most likely going to swap in a junk yard unit. My question is what are my options. I know the 92-94 had a final drive ratio of...

Re: Control arm/transverse link bushing replacement = alignm
I know this is an old thread, but is the STI bushing supposed to be a drop in replacement for the normal bushing on a legacy? It sounds like the original poster had a hard time getting the bushing in. I'm curious because I need new ones but wound't mind saving a few bucks.

Re: 1990 - 1994 Subaru Legacy Front Wheel Bearing Replacemen
The drivers side bearing was bad, but I generally like to do things in pairs, and since I was already doing the passenger side strut I decided to do the passenger side wheel bearing. I noticed some things as I started to take everything apart on the passenger side. The dust shield was missing. Then ...

I think you mean the ball joint arm, not the tie rod arm. If we are thinking about this like a clock and strut arm is 12:00, then the ball joint arm is 6:00 and the tierod arm is 9:00.

Re: 1990 - 1994 Subaru Legacy Front Wheel Bearing Replacemen
My findings match yours. Basically the outer part of the Timken seal is only metal and has no rubber. Since I am not a wheel bearing engineer, I can't say if the design is sufficient, but I decided to install the Subaru OEM part. There is a reason all my cars I own are Subaru's....the engineering. T...

Re: 1990 - 1994 Subaru Legacy Front Wheel Bearing Replacemen
I am replacing the wheel bearings this weekend on a 93 L. I bought Timken bearings and seals. Per your note I ran to the dealer and bought some OEM seals. I will compare and see what I think about the difference.
