Well, I represented as the only first gen there last night with my '94 SS. I'd only owned the car for about 48 hours, too. It was good fun. Can't argue with free donuts, either. Definitely looking forward to the next one.

Well, it was advertised as a '93, but I discoverd that it's actually a 1994 model when I called my insurance agent. Updated the initial post.

Took the car out to the bi-weekly meet at Clackamas Town Center last night. Turned out to be a pretty good group; almost 20 cars showed up - mostly newer ...

HA! That's an NA front bumper, isn't it? I just noticed. Makes sense, considering there was some front end damage at some point. Well, one more thing to swap, I suppose.

Over a year and a half after my '92 SS was rear-ended in traffic by a Dodge Ram, I've finally found a replacement. I got lucky with this one. It's a 1994 5MT Legacy SS. It had been on Craigslist for a week when I found it. The ad was terse, only had one picture (from the rear), and didn't identify ...

Yeah, I saw my options as:
1) part out (sad)
2) swap parts to a different shell (really time consuming considering the parts list)
3) do some bodywork

I've replaced just about every mechanical part on this car now, some multiple times, and I'd rather not pull everything off. I figure the bodywork ...

The most tedious part of the wiper switch install was pulling the wiring and plugs through that metal section on the underside of the column (it looked easier than taking the column further apart). Otherwise, it was fairly trivial: Remove steering wheel, remove upper and lower plastic steering ...

Pulled the tranny yesterday... "Hey I shouldn't be able to rotate this axle by hand, should I?" Nope.

Forged Performance tuned my car (SMT6) and I know they do AEMs. All the guys over there are really nice and do great work. They also did the custom fabbing of my intake, oil catch-can and coolant reservoir/overflow. Highly recommended.

Looks great. I'm pretty sure I spotted you on Sunday at Sandy Blvd while I was sitting on the 205 off ramp. I love seeing these cars out in the wild.

Well, no luck finding an LSD at the local U-Pull-Its today, but I did find:
+ '91 LSi with variable speed intermittent wipers! Too bad the leather seats were toast.
+ correct first gen Legacy fog light switch (I currently have an Impreza one and it's not quite the same style)

Whiteline ALK is installed. First impressions are that the caster increase is fairly noticeable; the car feels less twitchy over bumps and the steering feels more solid/assured. I liked it instantly. I'll have to get more seat time with it in the curves to get a better grasp on the handling changes ...
