Re: PDX Meet
Well, I represented as the only first gen there last night with my '94 SS. I'd only owned the car for about 48 hours, too. It was good fun. Can't argue with free donuts, either. Definitely looking forward to the next one.

Re: awrysobriquet's '93 SS "Selene"
Well, it was advertised as a '93, but I discoverd that it's actually a 1994 model when I called my insurance agent. Updated the initial post. Took the car out to the bi-weekly meet at Clackamas Town Center last night. Turned out to be a pretty good group; almost 20 cars showed up - mostly newer WRXs...

Re: awrysobriquet's '93 SS "Selene"
HA! That's an NA front bumper, isn't it? I just noticed. Makes sense, considering there was some front end damage at some point. Well, one more thing to swap, I suppose.

awrysobriquet's '94 SS "Selene"
Over a year and a half after my '92 SS was rear-ended in traffic by a Dodge Ram, I've finally found a replacement. I got lucky with this one. It's a 1994 5MT Legacy SS. It had been on Craigslist for a week when I found it. The ad was terse, only had one picture (from the rear), and didn't identify i...

Re: awrysobriquet's '92 SS "Kali"
Yeah, I saw my options as: 1) part out (sad) 2) swap parts to a different shell (really time consuming considering the parts list) 3) do some bodywork I've replaced just about every mechanical part on this car now, some multiple times, and I'd rather not pull everything off. I figure the bodywork is...

The most tedious part of the wiper switch install was pulling the wiring and plugs through that metal section on the underside of the column (it looked easier than taking the column further apart). Otherwise, it was fairly trivial: Remove steering wheel, remove upper and lower plastic steering colum...

Seaside Subaru Cruise 8/1/09. Gridded up: http://i378.photobucket.com/albums/oo227/typezwei/DSCF1222-crop.jpg It was a fun drive. Starting near the back meant playing some catch-up, which was not too difficult considering how well the car takes uphill passing lanes. This is after we eventually found...

Very nice, how much were the coilovers? About $1900 from a very helpful guy on NASIOC. For what I got, this was a great deal and I'm really happy with them. Of course, they're a compromise like any other suspension mod; they're worlds better on good surfaces but less comfortable when it gets rough....

Okay. Having a back-lit boost gauge makes night driving so much nicer. The wiring was simple; I wired it in at the cruise control button, as recommended by someone here. The Zzyzx coilovers have been on for awhile now and they're fantastic. It was certainly an epiphany when I first got on the road w...

Well, no luck finding an LSD at the local U-Pull-Its today, but I did find: + '91 LSi with variable speed intermittent wipers! Too bad the leather seats were toast. + correct first gen Legacy fog light switch (I currently have an Impreza one and it's not quite the same style) + some suspension hardw...

kimokalihi, In the case of the ALK, the eBay auction was actually by an Aussie seller in Austrailian Dollars. I think the exchange rate helped a bit. The swaybars I bought from Never Enough Auto like you did. I got the bit about drop shipping too. The price was good, so as long as they actually show...

Whiteline ALK is installed. First impressions are that the caster increase is fairly noticeable; the car feels less twitchy over bumps and the steering feels more solid/assured. I liked it instantly. I'll have to get more seat time with it in the curves to get a better grasp on the handling changes,...
