Re: WTB: Stock EJ22 fuel injectors
Hey, have you had a chance to check the resistance of those injectors? If they're all good & come with rails I will probably get them.

Re: What injectors will fit a 1990 EJ22?
Okay, it seems like if I use the '92-'94 rails along with the injectors, they will work. Do you by chance have the rails with them? Also, could you possibly measure their resistance? They should measure around 12 ohms between the terminals.

Re: What injectors will fit a 1990 EJ22?
If you or someone else on the board can confirm that they will match up properly with my EJ22, I will take them for sure! Anyone?

What injectors will fit a 1990 EJ22?
Well, at 240k, the legacy is throwing a fuel injector code (and runs/idles horribly). I am curious if anyone might know what years / engines I could be looking at to source injectors from that will fit my Legacy? 1990 EJ22 w/ an auto tranny. Thanks!

Re: WTB: Stock EJ22 fuel injectors
Yeah, I'm looking for a set of all 4. Sorry, but what does JY mean? Any idea how many miles are on the injectors? What are you asking for the set?

Re: Where to jack engine up from when removing oil pan?
Success! I disconnected the dog bone & motor mounts (after getting the car on jackstands), jacked the motor up by the oil pan/2x4. With the motor elevated, I slid some thin (about 3/4"-1" thick" pieces of wood in between the motor mounts & crossmember. That way, the engine was...

Where to jack engine up from when removing oil pan?
Alright, so I was driving my girlfriend's '90 Legacy the other day & -barely- went up a curb ramp at a dumb angle & slightly nicked the bottom of the pan on the curb. Sure enough, it ruptured the seal around the entire pan & there is oil EVERYWHERE under her car. So, this saturday, I got...

Re: Vacuum/PCV/Engine mounts?
It would be worth checking your knock sensor. I've been troubleshooting VERY similar behavior on a '90 legacy (with the rough occasional idle) and that's going to be my next step. It's easy to see, if you lean over the motor from the front of the car & look down just to the right of the throttle...

Super inconsistent idle all of a sudden (vid)
Hey everyone, over the weekend my girlfriend & I removed, cleaned (thoroughly) and reinstalled her IACV ('90 auto Legacy L). We replaced the oem stamped metal gasket with a rubber fiber gasket (traced & cut out ourselves from a larger sheet). Our initial goal was to try to get the car's idle...

Awesome call on the knock sensor. I just went & checked it out & while it does have a white connector, the black round part does have 3 cracks in it. Definitely worth swapping out!

Re: CEL & codes 41 & 22. Please help!
Finally had the chance to swap out the o2 sensor today. It's not significantly smoother than it was before, but it is smoother than it was prior to swapping it out. Thing is, it still briefly threw a knock sensor code (22), but not an A/F learning code. Which means - we're still misfiring for some r...

CEL & codes 41 & 22. Please help!
Okay, I'm helping my girlfriend troubleshoot her legacy long distance. I have worked on the car quite a bit myself previously & am quite familiar with it. Today she was driving home from work & her check engine light came on. I ran her through how to check the codes & she came up with co...

Re: About to do EJ22 head gaskets, need some advice!
UPDATE: After reconnecting the battery this morning, the CEL stayed off & the car runs much stronger! The idle still sucks but it's not quite as bad. From here, I'll be checking out the injector's o-rings for possible leaks, then just start replacing sensors, starting with the janky Ford o2, the...

Re: About to do EJ22 head gaskets, need some advice!
Alright, so today, the car finally threw a check engine light. I've only checked trouble codes on OBD2 cars before, so it was my first time trying to decipher the flashing CEL on an older car like this. I followed the procedure on this site: http://legacycentral.org/library/literature/codes.htm Howe...

Re: About to do EJ22 head gaskets, need some advice!
One odd thing I did notice when I was doing the HG's was the 02 sensor. It was a Bosch sensor, but also had a FORD logo on it! The plug also looked like it had been chopped & crimped to accommodate the mismatched sensor. Does the front o2 sensor on our cars dictate idle behavior much? I didn't r...

Re: About to do EJ22 head gaskets, need some advice!
Well, tonight we finished assembling everything & started it up. For the most part, our issues seem to have been solved! No more overheating! The car does, however, idle EXTREMELY rough & has pretty poor throttle response.... Anything below 2k rpm is pretty rough, and gets less & less ba...

Re: About to do EJ22 head gaskets, need some advice!
UPDATE: Razor blades & red 3M pads worked great! Got the block cleaned up & the heads dropped off at the machine shop today. They're cleaning them & decking them for 50/ea. Unfortunately, they called today & said that the head which DIDN'T have a blown HG has a crack between the spar...

Re: About to do EJ22 head gaskets, need some advice!

Thanks for the responses thus far, very helpful! Today I ordered both new HG's from subarugenuineparts.com, and valve cover gaskets, intake & exhaust manifold gaskets through Autozone, as well as a new water pump. We're going to be ordering a timing belt kit off ebay tomorrow from a company I ha...

About to do EJ22 head gaskets, need some advice!
Alright, working on my girlfriend's '91 Legacy L. EJ22 w/ an auto trans. 234k miles. Cylinder 3 misfires badly, the coolant overflow wreaks of exhaust gasses and it erupts within 10 minutes of driving. Thing is, she needs the car to be in reliable, working order within the next 2 weeks due to an int...

Re: '91 L has a temp fluctuation issue....
Okay, new symptom: I just went out & tried re-filling/burping the system with the thermostat in one more time. After letting the car idle for about 15 minutes, I tried backing the radiator's bleeder screw off just a bit. Lots & lots of thick white foam and gas pressure came out & didn't ...

Re: '91 L has a temp fluctuation issue....
Also, other than reduced fuel efficiency & having to top off coolant every once in a while, what would be the downside to just continuing to run it with an open thermo/lower operating temps?
