91 Legacy Wagon AWD Fuel Pump and Right Front Brake Caliper
I have a fuel pump for sale which I bought as a spare.
It came from a Colorado Subaru parts recycler and should
be a good one. I haven't tested it but will refund your money
if it doesn't work.
I am including a bonus right front brake caliper with new pads.
The caliper slides freely side to side ...

Engine misses when taking off.
I finally solved this problem by replacing the oxygen sensor.
Another symptom of this sensor, besides the hesitation
was wild rpm fluctuations from 1500 to 500 when cold.
It would do this 4 or 5 times before stabilising rpms.
It's a Bosch universal. works good. connect the white wire from

Re: Engine misses when taking off.
Thanks again.
I have replaced the plugs and wires, crank, knock, MAF sensors and tried another
IAC. still misses when moving from rest.
It's like no accelerator pump with a carburetor car.
No Power to accelerate and shift gear. Cold start is smooth and even. good compression.

Junkyard MAF's
Hi to all,
Seems like the MAF is the root of all evil around here,
at least a good thing to replace with engine roughness.
I am going to the junkyard to pick up another MAF for
my 91 N/A Automatic. On Ebay the MAF is listed as suitable
for 90 to 99. If I get a 98 MAF are they better or more ...

95 Gas tank on 91 ?
Hi,
I have a rusted gas tank on my 91 Legacy AWD wagon.
Anyone know if the the 95 gas tank will fit this year?
I know the body style changed but the stuff under
the floor boards looks the same.
Do I need to switch the pump and senders
or do they work on the 91?
Cheers, Craig

I changed my oil pan today, using your advice.
My old pan was cracked around the dipstick seam. due to rust and vibration.
I was able to manage the 4 rear bolts with about one inch clearance
with the jack under the pan.
I used a three eight drive with universal. half inch drive is too bulky ...

Camshaft timing
Howdy,
Just looking at my timing belt on my 91 Legacy 2.2 N/A.
The belt looks very old and is stamped Made in USA.
not sure if this means it's a replacement. the mileage is 169K.
Anyway, when the crank is at TDC, marks aligned, the cams are
both about 20 degrees before the notches (with paint ...

Converting AWD 91 Legacy wagon to FWD
Hi,
Thanks for the responses about the fuel tank.
I want to convert to FWD to save gas.
Is it just a matter of leaving off the driveshafts and differential?
Is there an electrical or computer factor to consider?
Thanks, Craig NY

FWD Gas tank in AWD 91 Legacy
Hi,
Just wondering if anyone knows if I can fit a FWD gas tank with
1 pump and sender to an AWD Legacy wagon?
If the driver's side sending wire is disconnected will the fuel
gauge still work?
Second question: If I plug up the lines to the fuel separator to
the gas tank will the car run ok? will ...

Re: Check engine light blinking
Thanks Josh,
From what you told me, I think it's just bad gas in the tank.
The engine kicks off and on, but won't run.
I siphoned most of the old gas and added about 5 gallons but
the tank is only quarter full. maybe needs more fresh gas?
I have Seafoam fuel treatment. will that help?

Check engine light blinking
Hi, I am trying to start my car after 5 years sitting outside.
It's a 91 Legacy wagon AWD. I have replaced the fuel in tank.
When I connect the black connectors the check engine

Is the ECU good and no codes? is that what this ...

91 Legacy 2WD to 4WD fuel pump interchange
Can anyone advise whether the main fuel pump on a 2WD sedan will
fit an AWD Wagon? I know the AWD wagon has an extra sender on
the driver side but I only need the main pump/sender on the passenger side.
