1997 transmission into a 2000?
i just scored a 2000 legacy, and it needs a transmission. i sourced a transmission and matching differential from a 1997 legacy outback. is that gonna be a bolt in operation?

5mt n/a vs 5mt turbo?
work a wrecking yard, when i tore down a turbo wagon, the torque converter was "taller" than one on a non turbo. any significant difference as far the manual transmissions go?

Re: Lightweight flywheels? To spend or not to spend....
yeah, light flywheel lets it rev easier, but the trade off is revs die off while shifting.
im going turbo, gonna leave the flywheel the factory intended.

ej22e turbo?
im still looking for a ej22t block, but getting impatient. what are you guys using as far as tuning? i won't have a turbo ecu, and i won't use a fmu (already burned a hole through a piston) with after market pistons, and rods, and assumed proper tuning; what are the limitations of the ej22e sleeves ...

Re: new to suby's, rods forged?
i will be aiming for higher horsepower. i've just gotten into subaru, migrated from civic dseries turbo's. do these factory rods crap out at around 10-12 lbs on a ej22e? it would make sense that if im getting aftermarket forged pistons, might aswell and pony up for some rods. just trying to coble to...

new to suby's, rods forged?
i've read on a couple sites that rods from the ej22e came forged from the factory. i just need some confirmation from the guru's on this site. just got into subaru's with a 91 legacy wagon n/a autotragic. like the first time i smoked pot, i said to myself, "why didn't i do this sooner?"
