Man... I don't get it with you guys!!!
I totally agree with Laurel. Bigger brakes are always nice, and if possible, should be done. My SS stops pretty damn well, especially for a car with stock brakes...Does that mean I am totally happy with it?? NO...I would love to be able to rail the brakes as hard as I rail the motor. On 19psi the car gets up to speed REALLY FAST, but I am a staunch believer in not overheating brakes (since I am poor/don't like having my rotors turned alot/like to stop) and I can't stop from 80 mph too many times before they get toasty. The craziest braking car I have ever been in was a 2004 Audi S4, we went from 115-0 really really fast!!!! Now...If I could make my Legercy stop like that, I would be happy as a clam!!!
Anyway...I don't see why you guys think that bigger brakes are ricer...because I think that they are a great idea...and just add to the safety of the car.

This thread makes my head hurt. I use these as rules of thumb when talking to people...
Tires are always where good braking starts. If your car can't put the stopping force to the pavement then your brakes mean nothing.
If you run aggressive tires and can't lock them up, you need more aggressive pads.
If you drive your car hard and the pedal gets mushy, you need better fluid and pads. If it still does it you need larger rotors.
HP impresses other people, brakes stop you from stuffing your car into a guardrail. What's more important to you is your choice.
On an aside big brakes might be overkill, but its an area of the car where that's ok.
