I've def read that before. The turbo sits to far back, at too much of an angle.

ya ive heard other subie guys talk about how far it sits back. the only things i dont like on the gp moto kit is internal waste gate and equal length headers. does it still have that nice deep subie grumble deven?

I do not know. I hope it doesn't make it sound like an EVO.

I love the rotated t3/t4 kit on my car. Unfortunately it'll probably be a while before I get around to fixing it since I have the truck now.

ya i dunno what ima do for a big turbo upgrade. its that last month for me to pay off that ticket and ill be able to. i havent got any new tickets cause ive been driving like a normal person. before i get my "big" turbo set up ill need to get a full exhaust first. im only going to run like 3-5 psi of boost till i get a stand alone and other supporting mods or get my pp6 tuned for now.

so did you guys just go to and exhaust shop with your new trubo ang have them mock up a kit?

Why would you buy a big turbo without getting the supporting mods first? Mods first with tune... then big turbo kit... with another tune. You're going to blow it up if you do it any other way.

Yeah pretty straight forward. The only difference is I'm using an AEM standalone instead of the perfect power, what ever number it was, that comes with the kit.

a smaller turbo like the 16G would probably more friendly to your driving it everyday.

ya it would be but im going for high hp numbers and want to start off with a bigger turbo. its cheaper then to keep upgrading.

when the car is done, ill start the boost off low so i can get used to the new power and then slowly go up month by month.

my friend did this when he strapped a T3/T4 to his 99 RS. He ran 2 pounds and was like i'll go up a little every month.
yeah........

it's been a couple weeks and he runs 9lbs (with a great tune) and puts out close to 300whp and tq.

basically my point is that power is addicting. hahaha.

The external wastegate I have on my car doesn't open at anything below 18psi, the wastegate spring is too stiff. Full boost hits around 4k in first gear and about the time it hits, you have to shift, two seconds later you have to shift again. The lateness of power coming on could have something to do with the stage 1 cams in the car though.

No, no, no. Rotated mount. That means the mount on the turbo is rotated so that it fits the same as a stock turbo on our funny engines.
Noooooooo.....rotated means "rotated" orientation. The only way to fit larger turbos on newer EJ motors is to "rotate" it around so that the compressor faces the pass-side fenderwell. Hence, it can no longer plumb back under the intake manifold.

Sorry satin, that blows harder than a rotated mount GT30r at 23 psi.
LOL, that was a good laugh. i was doing 60 plus in a 25 with no insurance by a cop that remembered me, he pulled me over before a few months back for speeding and with no insurance...( i hate it when cops remember you) so now im driving my brothers crx till i get car insurance and pay off my tickets. FEAR NOT!!! this is only a dent in the pocket book. i will be back to finish this!!
Not trying to bust your balls but driving with no insurance??? Or were you saying you didn't have proof of insurance. Hopefully not the latter. I know in most all States, driving with no insurance at all is a pretty bad thing.

i know its deffinatly NOT the best idea. but at the time i was useing my car for transportation to and from work. i have car issuance now. i just had to wait till i could go get car insurrence for the car agian.

it was a time when i had lost a job so i had to cut the insurance for the car to survive other bills.
