yea, ive always been lucky with that. (thankfully) you just have to take your time and make sure everything is right and tight. it took 10hrs to remove and install the engine and start it, but in the end it was worth it.
i mean... everything works, we even custom mounted the coolant tank.
installed a brand new radiator which was for my 92tw, so now i gotta get another one.
today, im gonna take it to the car wash and clean up the whole car. get er nice n shiny and vacuum the interior.

replaced my wagon sunroof track with a sedan sunroof track and eliminated that stupid stop feature when closing the sunroof. I'm much happier with it now. No more squeaking too.

Im definitely keeping the 93ss.
the 91ss i got with a bad engine, so i swapped my 93ss in to sell it.
I wanna keep my 92tw for a daily, so i have to sell the 91ss to get the engine work done.

Mine was squeaking because i had a wagon sunroof assembly in my sedan. Thw back corner holes dont line up with the studs on the roof.

With great help from Alphius, we tested the forester engine (bent intake valves on cyl 3 causing 70% leakdown), and swapped in my good engine from the SUS. Car runs awesome. :)

I replaced a locked up seatbelt track in my 91 SS this weekend. It decided to stop working Friday night. I'm glad I have a few parts cars to pick from. Next time, I think I'm going to convert to the manual belts like a lot of you have done.

Chances are they either didn't use the right gasket, tighten the bolts properly, or didn't flatten out the pan mating surface. The bolts can sometimes deform the pan around the bolt holes and this causes the pan not to seal well.

Legacy777 wrote:I finished up my trans wiring and got the engine bay put back together (minus the battery). I HATE putting that damn AWIC back in!! In the past I had to put the AWIC and the TB on together and then try and fight to put the bolts on for the TB. I ended up getting the AWIC back in without taking off the TB....that saved a lot of swearing....there was still some though.

Now I just need to put the dash back in and finish up some miscellaneous wiring. It's getting close!
With all the stuff that you've undertaken I find it odd you'd complain about the AWIC. While I'm not ecstatic about having to take it off again, I wouldn't say it was a difficult job by any means. Just required a lot of patience and very flexible hands to work the hose on the bottom :)

When I do my upgrades I try and keep future maintenance in mind with how I route things. The issue with the AWIC is that I'm using an aftermarket Samco hose that was trimmed just a little bit too short (my fault). So getting everything to fit together is just a huge pain in the ass.

I've got the Samco hose too. I almost forgot about trimming it, that was a bitch to get right. Yeah if its a tad too short that would definitely make me swear a little...
