Wait, squeaking when it was closed? What causes that?!cj91legss wrote:No more squeaking too.
With great help from Alphius, we tested the forester engine (bent intake valves on cyl 3 causing 70% leakdown), and swapped in my good engine from the SUS. Car runs awesome.mike-tracy wrote:Bought a Forester. My 3rd 98 lol.

With all the stuff that you've undertaken I find it odd you'd complain about the AWIC. While I'm not ecstatic about having to take it off again, I wouldn't say it was a difficult job by any means. Just required a lot of patience and very flexible hands to work the hose on the bottomLegacy777 wrote:I finished up my trans wiring and got the engine bay put back together (minus the battery). I HATE putting that damn AWIC back in!! In the past I had to put the AWIC and the TB on together and then try and fight to put the bolts on for the TB. I ended up getting the AWIC back in without taking off the TB....that saved a lot of swearing....there was still some though.
Now I just need to put the dash back in and finish up some miscellaneous wiring. It's getting close!
When I do my upgrades I try and keep future maintenance in mind with how I route things. The issue with the AWIC is that I'm using an aftermarket Samco hose that was trimmed just a little bit too short (my fault). So getting everything to fit together is just a huge pain in the ass.James614 wrote:With all the stuff that you've undertaken I find it odd you'd complain about the AWIC.
