An AWIC and A/A IC idea, although probably not a good one.

as I've been saying all along, a top mount air/air cooler on a legacy/liberty is a bad idea unless you change the size of the scoop. even without a scoop with zero airflow a cooler will help a bit, but i can think of better ways to spend your money than a top mount air/air if you want the car to still look like a legacy/liberty.

if the underhood temp is 140 degrees, and the compressed air is at 180 degrees, how is it gonna get hotter?ciper wrote:If the Saab topmount with stock hood scoop pulled no air then it would make it worse. The surface area of the intake would be larger so more heat would enter from the ambient air.

adding an intercooler will still be worse if it's not cooling....simply because it's an added restriction in the intake.

All i have to say is that whenever i really boost a lot, then stop and let it idle, the Saab intercooler has never been even warm to the touch. This tells me that its getting some kind of airflow from somewhere or its not working at all which i am pretty sure is not true because my butt dyno has noticed a difference.

I've had problems hitting fuel cut recently, so i can't go over 12-13 psi (what my gauge reads), but i still haven't gotten it to get warm. I'm not really complaining, its pretty cool that the air is not as hot when it goes into the engine.
