wind noise from leaky front door seals - adjustment possible

Post by mp »

Has anyone successfully fixed air leaks from the seals around the front doors? My drivers door seal really whistles once I am going over 40mph.

I wonder if there is any window adjustment possible

Has anyone replaced the seals? Probably too expensive.

thanks

1/4" polyethylene pneumatic tubing I stole from work between the folds of the weatherstripping works well for me. I did the leading edge from the side view to a little around the corner at the top front of the window. Has worked well for years. Watch out that it stays there, though - for some reason I've had windshield-replacement idiots remove them for me and not replace them.

I think Legacy777 just said to roll out the weather stripping to make a better seal.

I just used some 8 gauge ground wire behind the weather stripping to help seal.....it works for the most part.

There is a way to adjust the "preload" on the glass so it seals better... The Haynes manual describes it, and i'm not sure if the FSM does or not......
