WTB: 1.5 DIN Pocket

Hey all, This girl I'm seein' bought a '90 Legacy, and it came with a stereo + DIN pocket. She doesn't like the ugly gap it leaves, so I assured her that a 1.5 DIN Pocket exists, and that I can procure said item for her. Does anyone have one, or know of a place I can get one? If so, please e-mail me...

Of course I'll be there... and I plan on sleeping in it. It's been a while since I slept in my Subaru... and sadly, this time I won't have the company of a lovely young lady like last time ;)

Good call, Jay. You're probably also enjoying noticably-better gas mileage as well, eh? :D Not noticably. My commute (from Kirkland to Redmond) is all backroads. I've been getting a consistant 21mpg. The TLeg got about 18... I think. There's a difference, but not a big one. The big difference is th...

Nice and shiny!!. its what i would have gotten but in sedan form (wagons are not for me  ) any mods planned? No mods really planned. I might do some suspension work, but for the most part, I want a nice reliable ride :) Looks very nice with the tint. Apines are quality too. I hear those early ...

Bought myself a newer Legacy

I bought a new Subaru. I had two cars, a '90 Thunderbird Supercoupe and '93 Turbo Legacy. http://home1.gte.net/res0ibjw/mycars.jpg I'm not a huge performance guy, so I decided I wanted something newer, more luxurious, nice looking, and still reasonably fun to drive. I bought this. http://www.jayspan...

Huh, the thread's not even that old. I don't remember deleting those pics either.

I really want to get my stupid hesitation problem fixed before I worry about installing this IC though.

In theory, the baffles should do this. I don't know exactly why i had this problem with the fuel pump, but I know replacing it fixed the problem :) The fuel pump is oriented on the passenger side of the tank, so it makes sense that on a hard right turn, the gas would flow away from the pump (if the ...

I'm sorry, but I don't know if the suspension setup changed in '95 when they changed the body style of the Legacy Wagons. Perhaps someone else knows better.

Hmmm, honestly, it SOUNDS like a tranny issue to me, but I have no basis for that theory.

Does this happen to you regardless of fuel level? With my fuel pump problem, it'd only happen when I was at a half tank or less.

This is one of those stupid tricky jobs because it's literally 1 bolt holding a chunk of metal on the block. All you have to do is pull that bolt off and pull the thing free.

However, it's a PITA because it's buried in the engine and you can barely see the damn thing, much less get a wrench to it :)

Is your car cutting out on Hard Right Corners?

Replace your fuel pump! This has been said a few times, but I wanted to create a central thread to make searches a bit easier (it took me a while to find an answer to this probem). My '93 Turbo Legacy Sedan had this problem... After a really hard RIGHT corner, the car would suddenly just cut out... ...

nice find, and at a good price to boot! that'll fit well since it's narrower and thinner than the wrx one It seems like it might fit ok, but the BOV is a big issue though. The WRX's BOV is further to the right, so it clears the Throttle Linkage. And as for the hose between the Turbo and IC, I think...

Looks like the only serious problems I'll have is re-routing the BOV. It wont fit where it is now, because it strikes the Throttle Cable.

I think I'm going to have my friend fab. up an adapter of some sort with a bend on it, so I can place the BOV underneath the IC or something.

Intercooler off a Forester XT. Got a great deal on it over at the USMB... cost me $50 :D Think it'll fit my Turbo Legacy better than a WRX one will?

Check this pic fo a comparison of the two ICs.

Heh, I'm sorry Mike, but I have no multimeter.

My problem was that at first, I was testing by looking at the dash light, and only later was I testing by both the dash AND the dome light.

You guys have both been an awesome help. Hope I get this all worked out tonight after work.

So it IS the black connector on that panel? I thought that plug went to a computer, and even asked so in this thread. I think my problem was that I was looking at the dash to see if I had snipped the right wire, so when the dummy light on the dash didnt stop working, I assumed I had the wrong wire. ...

Theres at least one wire I can find, but I can't find the plug for it. It's lost way up in the dash... I'm almost to the point of just snipping it and seeing if that's right :P Just to verify, if i DO cut that wire (or unplug the harness) neither the dome light nor the little door indicator on the d...

I've had all 6 of the plugs going to the fuse box unplugged, plus all 5 of the free-floating plugs near the fuse box unplugged, and STILL the car knows when the door is open and closes (I'm judging by if the dome light turns on and off when I open and close th...

Concerning the door trigger wire... the only black plug above the hood release I see is attached to some massive wiring harness. There's a white, black, and blue plug all connected to it, with tons of wires. I'm worried that might be connected to a computer. Is this the black plug they're speaking o...
