MD: Wrecked but mostly 100% 92 L+ AWD 5MT sedan

My brother totalled his 92 L+ AWD 5-speed sedan last night on an onramp. The car was mechanically 100%, and only had 51,938 miles on it as of two months ago (9/26). The only rust was where a deer ran into the front right fender -- the car was garaged from birth until 2005. The only parts of the car ...

Well the SR20 is durable and responds well to boost -- the question is mostly, will he be able to make any where near 200whp unintercooled? My hunch is no, but I need to know a little more about other unintercooled factory turbos before I can say anything with authority. Also, has anyone seen a powe...

Any idea about the CR? Also, 120-125whp? I forgot how much drivetrain loss there was on AWD! My G20 has 140chp and others that have dynoed stock motors have generally had at least 125whp, so I'd assume I have around that. I guess you guys have more torque though... but then I am 100-150 lbs lighter....

EJ22T basic stock specs

Whew, it's been a while since I've come around. my brother still has his 1992 Winestone L+ AWD 5MT sedan (50,000 original miles!), but I sold my 90 White L+ AWD 5MT wagon and am now driving a 1992 Infiniti G20 5MT with around 180k mi. I swapped the motor for a JDM SR20DE when the old one died, but I...

The G20 got 32.25 mpg on one tank of gas recently, in a combination of 75-80 mph highway driving and arterial roads. I'm confident it could have gotten 34-35 if it had been all highway. My old Legacy, on the other hand... I was lucky to get 20 in mostly city driving, and the highest I ever got was 2...

FS in MD: 1990 Legacy L+ AWD 5MT wagon -- SOLD

SOLD for $1075. You guys missed out. :( Up for sale is a 1990 Subaru Legacy wagon with approximately 66,500 miles. It is a 5-speed manual, AWD, and has the L+ package, which includes power everything (windows, locks, mirrors), ice-cold (working!) AC, and an AM/FM/cassette radio with an auxiliary inp...

WTB: left-side black windshield/A-pillar trim

I want to buy the part that goes along the A-pillar between the windshield and the driver's door. It is black plastic with a metal bracket underneath. You have to pull out the weatherstripping around the driver's door and take off the bracket holding the weatherstripping in to access the bracket for...

. Stick 1/4 tubing in the folds of the front window seals. Im assuming you mean 1/4" outer diamater. I went to the local Schmucks and asked for "1/4 inch vacume tubing" they tried to sell me 1/4" inner diamater tubing (about 3/8" outer diamater) at $1.10 a foot. ( figured 1...

Taking the mirrors off and clamping the window gussets closed for about 15 seconds fixes the wind noise problem completely for about six months. After that, you have to do it again, but it's a 15-minute-per-side job (take off the interior door panel, take off the triangle trim piece, undo the mirror...

It is possible that my headunit had weak solder joints on the aux jack. Either way, an aftermarket headunit is a far more elegant solution.

WTB: Winestone (postfacelift) right front fender

A deer ran into my brother's car (92 L AWD sedan) the other day. The damage isn't terrible but my parents will pay for a right-side winestone fender if it's in good condition. If you have one, name your price. This is a standing WTB that I will update if I ever get an offer.

$135 is worth it unless you can somehow make sure you're just going to get one 1GB stick instead of two 512MB ones.

It is, but you might have to replace both sticks. That can be a bit more expensive, although you can check prices to see if the upgrade from 1 GB to 2 GB through HP will be more expensive (it may well be).

So, I think I an gonna stick with the HP DV6000t, and just get the C2D 5200. So whats so special about Vista? I should be able to function just fin with 1gb of DDR2 ram. I mean HP offers less on the standard dv6000t. Just because they offer less doesn't mean it runs well. When XP came out it was of...

Yeah, but Dell's support is still better overall than HP/Compaq's. Anyway, if you are having trouble with Dell tech support, just hang up and try again.

Because they are, or have been in the past, unreliable, and their support is pretty bad.

I also think HP and Compaq are not great. Also, 1 GB of RAM is barely enough for Vista -- I would recommend getting 2 GB. If I were you I would look at the Dell Inspiron E1505, or even better, the Lenovo Thinkpad T60. The T60 would be pretty expensive, but it is a solid laptop. I have a T43 and am p...

Oh, if only it were that simple. Not everyone has the time, money, and knowhow to fab up engine mounts, exhaust, axles (unfortunately you'd probably have to swap transmissions too), etc. And that's to say nothing of engine management. It is theoretically possible to take a VQ35DE from an Altima or M...
