Re: CFK's 92 SS Daily/Project (Updated Apr/17. MOTOR BLOWN,H

You know, I also put a lot of time and effort into my car only to have repeated setbacks (from multiple sources). In the end, rather than spend a bunch of money on performance parts (e.g. custom engine build), I went with the stock long block setup (just a refresh on everything) and TD04 and 440s al...

Re: EJ20G "RobTune" Info

TD, thanks for summarizing your experiences there. I just really like where the power band is with the TD04, basically between 3000 and 5500 which is great for daily driving. I don't know how fast the 39/43 would spool with the 2.2 and stock heads, which is my only hesitation.

Re: EJ20G "RobTune" Info

I'm running EJ22T SOHC with 440's/TD04/06TMIC/Walbro and the stock (well, Diamond) coil pack and Rob's ignitor adapter (which is an easy install). This is a smooth ride and will probably AutoX awesome. Personally, I'd love to know what sort of experience people have had with the stock 22T long block...

Oh noes, did I pass up a flame opportunity? ;-)

Thanks for the compliments too, the car would be even more awesome with an exterior makeover (mostly paint).

I'm running 225/45's, on the 16x7 rims they are perfect.

The secret is the tire size - the stock 205/55's suck visually, but these don't.

Re: EJ20G "RobTune" Info

Well, today I was finally able to get a Robtune ECU into my car. I have the 440cc's, the JECS MAF, a TD04, and stock EJ22T block and heads. This car has been running an early Revtronix since they first came out, but the driveability always suffered with jerky transitions between fueling modes. I had...

Re: Wanted: 90-94 Legacy N/A ECU

Yeah, it's just the case that I need. If I got the whole ECU, I'd turn around and send the board to Rob for his continuing research, as I don't need the actual circuitry. Someperson, I was hoping for something in the $20 shipped range. If you can do that, let me know. Mike, if nothing pans out I'll ...

Wanted: 90-94 Legacy N/A ECU

I'm doing the Robtune ECU swap, and need an ECU case from a 1st-gen N/A car to mount it in based on what I'm reading in the forums.

Does anyone have an N/A ECU laying around for cheap? Thanks!

Re: EJ20G "RobTune" Info

I'm hoping so, it didn't look like he'd posted on NASIOC since early August, so I'm hoping he took a nice long vacation. I'm years overdue for one myself. I'm in no hurry, but chances are my email will get lost in the shuffle. I didn't send any money, I'm just ready to purchase. So no worries. I hav...

Re: the wonder if the 02-03 WRX seats sit to high..

The 02-03 sit pretty high, I have a big torso and am 6'2" and it was barely drivable until I cut/fabbed/welded the brackets to the lowest possible height while still keeping the OEM rails/adjustment.

Re: ScottyS 1991 SS back from the brink

The update is that, once again, this car has been brought back from the brink. After sitting more or less in the garage for a couple years, I got a local Subaru shop to refresh the lower end and heads. So, new rings, bearings, and rebuild heads. I decided to stick with the stock configuration, becau...

Re: Revtronix site gone forever

Well fellas, after a couple of years with the car sitting (while I was busy finishing a degree and keeping food on the table), I finally got some time to get the engine back together and the car running. Short story is, I never got ahold of the last version of Revscan (that would clear codes and stu...

Very, very interesting and encouraging. I would love to swap out my 440's and vf8 for 550's and vf43 if this swap and tuning proves feasible.

Re: Oil Pan Silcone

I just pulled a 22T motor apart that I got from the Pick/Pull. It had plenty of silicone inside the oil pan area, only a couple of smaller detached pieces were stuck to the pickup screen. Oh, and an oil squirter was rolling around in there too. The motor did not look to have suffered any ill effects...

Re: Chip for stock ECU!

Yes, but there is no reason to go and rip of Mike @ Revtronix by stealing his info from an already burnt chip. That's just not good practice. Whoa, not talking about "ripping" off anybody. I will be the first one to continue to work with Mike if he surfaces, I liked the guy based on my em...

Re: Chip for stock ECU!

Rather than fool around with the stock ECU - if I ever have to switch off the Revtronix that I have for whatever reason, I would seriously look into modding an EJ20G ECU into the car (not hard) and have that guy on NASIOC modify his tune for the EJ22T with JECS, injectors, etc. This might have even ...
