Re: Boost and Wideband gauge placements
There are a few threads with pics of these setups from many users...
I had my boost gauge on the steering wheel column, visually centered in the middle of the tach.
Wideband I mounted in/over the center air vent, closest to the driver.

Re: Fuel Trims with 550 inject and a revtronix stage 2
Stage 2 chips could use 440cc, 550cc, or whatever the original owner specified in the order. Assuming 550cc is a bad idea (for example I got mine with 440cc). There is no way to check what it was tuned for either. There is no way to check what revision of a chip you have. Scan through http://bbs.leg...

Me too.... well mine just started going bad. Eventually the damn thing would "idle" at 3K. lol everyone at lights thought I wanted to race. Anyways, re-adjusted it per the FSM and it was fine again.Inlinesicks wrote:I had a similar issue, the TPS wasn't adjusted properly.

Yup, same steps I used when taking the needles off mine. thread link.

Did the speedo become more inaccurate again? At least in 2009 after fiddling with the needle position, it was within ~1-2mph at 40 mph according to a radar sign and GPS.

Re: Starter Solenoid on way out?
1) You can possibly get a new key cut from the VIN code at the dealer for ~$15. 2) The ignition switch contacts could be on the way out. I had to replace mine in the '94 TW (there is a thread somewhere with pics), as new reman'ed starters were still having the occasional starting problem. 3) both oe...

Re: Some newbie type questions
1. IAC might need cleaning/adjustment. TPS could be misadjusted, or worse someone played around with the various adjustment screws w/o following the FSM procedures. Full FSM is in the stuff you need to know forum... 3. Yes. 4. There is a sunroof repair thread in the Body, Chassis and Interior forum....

Re: Is VSS nessecary?
Not to my knowledge. The VSS sensor sits behind the speedometer portion (Ive got a thread somewhere with detailed pics).... in case you wanted to relocate it somewhere with the swap.MConte05 wrote: Unless you guys know if there are other things the ECU is referencing from the cluster?

or bad contacts in a spot or two. I guess it really depends how long you are happy to keep whacking the starter before you replace it.... I did this for a few months before I replaced the damn thing.

Re: Next level camp stove!!!! Very cool, must see!
Interesting idea. I wouldnt mind the USB port in the wild, but the requirement for twigs/wood isn't going to work out in a lot of situations (side of a snowy mountain, soggy forest, etc). Nor would I want to have scrounge around for wood in the dark after setting up camp and its constant feeding. I'...

Re: Revscan issues!!
I can't say about the condition of the wires, I've tested continuity through the connector and it is good all the reading The wires in the cable don't all go straight through. There is a usb chip in there which interfaces between the ODB port and the USB port on your PC. Recall you had to install t...

Re: Revscan issues!!
Which version of revscan are you using? Latest was 1.100. I wonder if you have a different ECU revision which it wasn't fully developed for... no way to tell what your version is with RevScan from what I recall. EvoScan can tell you though (but of course its not free). The only other difference I ca...

What model car?
I had this problem with the OEM fuel pump. Once I upgraded to the Walbro, problem went away. I seem to recall it was also sweeping right hand turns onto highways too.

Re: Revscan issues!!
Naw, way easier method with RevScan. 1) To clear specific error codes, click on the ECU -> Error codes section. Then in the error code window, right click and select clear. 2) To reset the ECU, right click on the ECU at the top of the treeview and select clear. A dialog should prompt you to turn the...

Re: Revscan issues!!
What about all the other suggestions in my first paragraph? In the rob tune thread, they recently talked about the MAP sensor maxing out around 18 PSI. Sounds like you're possibly maxing it out... although with a TD04 tune, I thought Mike had the chip limited to 17 PSI in power mode... or did you ha...

Re: Revscan issues!!
Try disabling the wideband support. Last I recall it wasn't finalized and may be causing the data acquisition problems. After restarting RevScan, if you only enable one or two of those problem parameters, it still have problems displaying? Are you using a USB to COM converter per chance? It could al...
