Can you post a bigger picture of that please? That will tell me if my cast elbow bends will fit. That looks like a darn tight bend. You would need 3in. of clearance from the turbo inlet to the intake runner to fit my 2in. elbow castings. The radius on these castings is as tight as possible without b...

2in ID, 90 degree aluminum elbow bends---I has dems!
I have cast aluminum 90 degree elbow bends in stock that you guys might find useful. Those of you who upgraded to VF, 16G, + 20G turbos might likethis. The problem is, I need to see if it's a perfect fit or not. They are 2in ID and about 2 1/8 OD. Total height is 3in. Clamping the short cast elbow t...

Moving O2 sensor into the header?
The O2 sensor in my rotated turbo interferes with my Laminova cooler unit. The bung is welded in the downpipe at the perfectly wrong angle for this . There's a bung further down the downpipe already and I *could* use that. But, I think the stock WRX location in the exhaust manifold might be bet...

Rust, rusty, and rusted are three distinct levels, I take it? ;) Joe did a great job on his first timing belt and water pump. I helped him get the car tuned up last night working on the boost controller settings. Low boost is happy but there's some spiking on high boost going up steep hills. I...

I'll be pushing about 1200cc of fuel per hole once the secondaries are active. It will have the 525s as primaries and two of those new 2200cc bosch units. Low impedance 950s won't work with any of this, which is what it currently has. (edit:) The rails were custom made several years ago. I wish I co...

It uses some nice hose for the emissions and such. I'll be putting in a catch can or two and relocating the battery. This manifold has slightly different routing for the emissions lines than a USDM manifold. I'll be taking it off to see if it needs port matching. But, it needs to be above freezing f...

Solved! I found a set of high impedance 525s that fit. These are Delphi/Rochester style injectors I'm replacing. Figuring out what these were was the hard part. I had never seen these before. http://www.fiveomotorsport.com/PartsJPEGs/Injectors/17113813_42lb_8.jpg From here: http://www.fiveomotorspor...

http://i642.photobucket.com/albums/uu149/tinkerfreaks/VID00074.jpg It's a 2.2L solid deck turbo block with '98 RS heads. The turbo is basically a Stage V Garrett. The wheels and center section are from a 60-1. It's a large 60-1 turbine and compressor wheel purposely put inside smaller housings. the...

I'd like to get away from these low impedance injectors entirely. I'd prefer using those new 1,000cc Bosch units but it's a fitment issue. Is there a high impedance replacement that readily fits? It's a special JDM manifold that I'm working with. http://i642.photobucket.com/albums/uu149/tinkerfreaks...

"De-engineering" a project--injector choices.
I'm thrown for a loop on what to do for a replacement of these big, weird fuel injectors. I'd post pics but they're packed under these big fuel rails. I have 900cc+ injectors that are low impedance top feeds. I need smaller flowing high impedance injectors of the same body type. The existing injecto...

Well, what CAN a 2.2/DOHC do?
Just what can the STOCK 2.2 block actually handle? Can a stock 2.2L+ '98 DOHC heads handle 600hp and 32psi of boost? The Stage V t3/t4 on the car will support nearly that figure. With the right fuel and timing curves on E85, I don't see why it wouldn't do 600hp. It's a healthy target and I have the ...
