Should be stamped to the inside of the rotor where it fits to the hub (requiring removal)... The '91 Factory Manual states specs for both turbo and N/A as:

front: 24mm (0.94"), service limit 22mm (0.87")

rear: 10mm (.59"), service limit 8.5mm (0.335")

I wonder if it's just to make the car easier to turn. Hand brake turns could be executed clutchless, I suppose, and less stability makes for quicker handling (as the car wants to deviate from the straight path). I read in an engineering magazine how an axle under power (and even disconnected from an...

Wagon or sedan and what year? I found seven in two yards; three wagons, four sedans, various styles, most AWD auto. There was an Outback, too (!). Didn't look banged up, but the airbags had blown. At least it had over 200K on it. (I still think of them as new. Getting old, I guess.) Most had decent ...

My mechanic hates DSMs. He's always complaining about the cheap parts from that 'GD Chrysler' and apparently weak motor top ends. He loves Subaru and Nissan, though.

Gear ratio question...

Was in the junk yard this morning looking to replace the rusty rear tailgate handle piece and stumbled across a GL turbo with a very nice 3.7 LSD. This got me thinking because my FWD is 3.7 and I like the high gearing on the highway. I'm planning on converting to 4wd turbo, and was wondering: 1) Cou...

It would depend on the type of dent, the location, how good you want it to look, and how long you want it to last. A creased dent is very difficult to fix without filler or big expense, but the filler only lasts a few years around here - moisture gets under it and causes rust as well as lifting of t...

As I write, mine is in the shop for all the same rust except for the windshield. They're cutting out the rust and welding in new metal for the wheel arches and end of rear sills, removing tailgate window to take care of sneaky rust under it, rolling the inside wheel wells to clear my tires, seam-wel...

I have 15" wheels with Falcon ZE502's that I'm very happy with - good turn-in, grip (much better than the more expensive Pirellis I had), and they don't mind sliding around much. They also handle well in New England weather and less than 60 bucks a pop.

You may be right, I see Loyale/GLs labelled as Legacy all the time. Just to clarify if anyone cares - the GLs I owned were the old EA81s not the EA82s. My mother had a Loyale and I hated it - nothing but problems and no one could figure out why. Probably a lemon, but in this state you need to have t...

I agree it's time they stopped running blind. The reason the FIA has their rules in place is because of their experience with these horrible events (especially Group B). I was sure this would happen, but I'm still shocked. I wished the SCCA could've learned from the FIA's hard lessons, but I guess i...

Another possibility for freeway overheating (usually at higher speeds than the limit) is the radiator hoses being too old and soft - they partially close up at high speed and restrict the flow of coolant. Temp should come right back down immediately once the car is slowed, though.

With all the small diesels in Europe, you may be able to find something from Britain (where they sort of speak the same language). A Peugeot, perhaps? Don't really know, but I would guess even with all the other modern features that they would still require a pump.
