WTB: Coolant Temperature Sensor Pigtail
Recently broke a wire off of my pigtail on my 1994 Legacy, and I have it loosely soldered in but I doubt it will hold very long. Dealer doesn't have a pigtail, nor do any of the parts stores in my town. Just looking for a pigtail so I can install it and not be scared that my solder will fall out aft...

Seatbelt Light Code 24
I did not want to jack Baddog's thread so I made this one. Just today when I got out of work, I noticed my auto seatbelts came up really slowly. I didn't think anything of it, but as I was driving home, the passenger's side auto seatbelt kept clicking, it kept like hitting the limit of going up, thi...

That blue port is to attach a monitor. You'll need an older laptop with the printer port like on the left there, there's no easy way around it. These should be between free and cheap at this point, and will likely have dead batteries, so a power inverter and power cord will likely be required; that...

Re: An ECU scan tool for turbo and NA owners
Hey Vrg, I've been reading up on this and I'd really like to try it out, but the problem is that my laptop doesn't have either of the connectors to hook it up to. My laptop has only the blue printer port shown here: http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q131/Jessekrs123/Printer_Ports.jpg I was just won...

Wire Broke Off Of Connector
Tooling around the other day with my car to get it started (unplug coolant temp sensor, put in resistor) one of the wires that go into the plug snapped. :x It broke off pretty close to the connector, and I managed to successfully solder it back into place for now, but it is certainly not a strong fi...

Mobil Delvac Super 15w40
Hey guys, figured I'd post this here with my newly changed oil. I've had a cold start lifter tick for the longest time, and it really was beginning to make me angry. Because I really don't like to abuse my cars, I'd sit and idle the car @ 1,500 rpms until my HLAs finally filled up. This would take a...

Re: Running rough, Code 17.
Before you buy a new injector, check for power and ground through the injector's connector. The only reason an OBDI Subaru would trip a code would be the following: - The sensor is not getting power. - The sensor is not properly grounded. - The sensor is disconnected. - The sensor is shot to the poi...

Re: Damaged ECU?
Sounds like a similar issue I had.
My tach would go crazy sometimes, and my car would randomly shut off.
It turned out to be the ECU ground in my engine bay was loose. Found a new home for it, snugged it up with a bolt and I have not had the problem since.

No, just one located right in the cat.Subiel94 wrote:So wait our cars have 2 o2 sensors??
If you're going to replace it go to a local parts store and get the 7/8 o2 socket. It has a little notch for the wire which makes it 10x easier to remove.

Re: Mechanic replaced Timing Belt on motor that had broken
All SOHC Subarus manufactured before the year 1997 were non-interference. This would include Pre-1997 SOHC EJ22s. All DOHC engines are interference. In 1997, Subaru redesigned the EJ22, making it interference among other things. Anyone who has dabbled in older EFI Subarus knows this, as should these...

Re: Random cel after driving for 20 mins
Green connectors are for CELs that are currently being tripped. You can keep these plugged in and drive around until the CEL comes on and then it will flash the codes. Black connectors are for the memory. I would use this method to pull CELs from the memory, so you don't have to wait around for it t...

1st gens did not come with EGR, only a purge solenoid and a charcoal canister. EGRs were introduced in the 2nd gen 1995 models. (My father's 2nd gen 95 has EGR, my 1st gen 94 does not)volny wrote: - I can't find the EGR valve, I'm assuming its been taken off by the previous owner as well.

Black connectors are for CELs stored in the memory. If your memory hasn't cleared in a while, than you might have a few stored.

It'll take you 20-30 minutes tops.
It's as easy as changing out spark plugs and wires.

Just a quick update for you fellas out there. I have been trying out some different resistors to see which one works the best. Here are just 2 results: With the 680 ohm 1/2 watt 5% tolerance the actual resistance output was 480 ohms +- 10 ohms. I am not really sure why it's actual output is 200 ohms...
