Cool Cool, It would be great to see some more legovers on the track. If you look at the pics on the Team IAC page from this summer you'll see my legacy on the track as my race car was down for those months.

Yup once you do a track event you get hooked. I did my first event 2 years ago in Nov. I just finished getting my Competition Liscence and did 2 races. :) It's amazing!

HPDE: Subaru-EVO Road Course Track Day, Limerock Park Nov 8

Ok folks with all the Evo-Subaru talk from last weekends Drag Racing Event, I figured I'd keep the ball rolling and put together a Road Course Event! I spoke with NASA-NE and they have agreed to give us our own rungroup at Limerock Park in Nov! (or any NASA Event). Here is the deal... We need 30 Sub...

We always recommend Hawk pads. HPS for street and light Autox Duty HP+ for Street and Road Course/Autox Duty Blue for serious Road Course Duty As for ceramics, we like the Akebono ACT and Pro-ACT setups. Ceramics are longer lasting, quieter than metalic pads and less dust, but less grip. The HPS are...

doubt youd find a more beefy unless you do full coilovers at $1500+

Since you mentioned it, I'm actually looking at getting the Racing Brake rotors. Mainly because they aren't too expensive (209 from RCE for both). That's about on par with stock price. Are you looking at the Street-slotted ones? We've been testing these since Feb and are very happy with both the St...

I also don't want to hack apart my car... So lets stick with TMICs that can be put in with my AC working for this discussion :)

And another benefit from using the Koni inserts in the front is that the car will not be jacked up as it would be if you installed an aftermarket strut (at least that is what one tech support guy told me) with the factory spring. If you used H&R, Whiteline, Eibach, etc springs, then the front e...

They come with instructions. The shaft right below where the piston enters it is where you cut and then the whole shaft etc pulls out.

You should sell the 4-pots from your Impreza and buy the 2-pots for the rear of your Legacy. Trade the stock front setup from a Turbo Legacy + some cash for your front 4-pots from the Impreza. You can get the 2-pots from www.RaceCompEngineering.com For $994. Everything you need. Nah the legacy is f...

Yup, on the impreza race car once I put in the rear disc brakes I will also put in a manual brake bias controller. Makes it nice for controlling tha bias, especially on a rainy track :)

Basically you get sent tubes which look like struts without perches or mounts. you essentially cut off the top of the stockers and pull out the guts. the "insert" slides into the hollowed out stock strut. It's a royal pita to do compared to a straight strut drop in but well worth it. Gives...

Gotcha, I'm not rich enough to do that on my impreza and the vented rears work fine on my legacy so I'm sticking with them for now. Good discussion though! :)

The valve changes the bias, not the rotor size IIRC. I'm not 100% sure but as far as I've learned from all the car prep is that it won't change the bias by slapping on larger rear rotors. You may very well be correct but this is the first I've heard of it. The other logic behind not doing the H6 upg...

My point is you cannot change the bias by putting larger rotors. The bias will still be the same either way. I've tracked RSs, Legacy Turbos, my Impreza. I haven't noticed that big a difference between the brakes on the STi on the track v. the others with upgrades. Guess I'm not trying hard enough ;...

maybe you guys need suspension work, cause I don't have a problem stopping with either my '96 Impreza L nor my '94 Legacy Turbo both running WRX size front rotors and 4-pot calipers with Hawk blues on the impreza and HP+ on the Legacy. And the impreza has the rear drums....

yeah more rolling resistance, for the 10%-15% braking the rear does.... Not worth the effort and that's coming from someone who actually races their cars on the track.... Stick to upgrading the front brakes with WRX rotors/pads/calipers/brackets, significantly easier and most bang for the buck. -mike
