'93 legacy wagon overheating, resevoir full
While driving to work this morning I notice my temp guage rising on the freeway. As I came to a stop it began to overheat (guage pegged). As soon as I got to 65mph again it cooled a little bit (not pegged but higher than normal), and then overheated again when on the surface streets. Appears that th...

Re: Bad Rack and Pinion? Causing steering to pull?
Do you think a bad rack, besides the bushings, will cause it to pull like this? I'm not to familiar with the inner workings of the part.

Re: New ball joint wont fit into knuckle! HELP!
The guy at the counter checked the part number again, said it was correct. He also said it could be a defect, so I assume it's not the first time he came across it.

Bad Rack and Pinion? Causing steering to pull?
Today I wrapped up my front end refurbish on my '93 wagon, or so I thought. After replacing all four struts, inner and outer tie rods, steering bellows, lower ball joints, and the sway bar links and bushings, (also a full timing belt water pump job) I took her in for four new tires and an alignment....

Re: New ball joint wont fit into knuckle! HELP!
So the ball joints from Auto Zone were to big. I bought another brand from O'reilly and they slid in no problem. Thanks for the feedback.

Re: Front sway bar bushings. Hard to replace?
I did it with the wheels up, and it was much easier than I had imagined. Now if I can just get this new ball joint to go back in I'll be done!

Re: New ball joint wont fit into knuckle! HELP!
I did wipe out the inside of the knuckle, it looks pretty clean. The the new one appears to be the same diameter as the old. I would need a micrometer to measure any difference, however I do see a very slight difference in the two when comparing from the side, but I have seen slight differences in af...

New ball joint wont fit into knuckle! HELP!
I just removed the old ball joint from my '93 wagon L because it was getting a little sloppy. I picked up new ones at Autozone (I know, its crap) and the damn thing will not go back into the steering knuckle. I stuck a big screwdriver between the pinch bolt flange to try and pry it open, and I still...

Front sway bar bushings. Hard to replace?
So I am replacing a lot of the front suspension on my stock '93 wagon. So far I have done inner/outer tie rods, and the struts/mounts. Next up is the sway bar end links and bushings. I saw a video for the links, looks pretty straight forward, but nothing on the bushings. Is it easy to replace them? ...

200K timing belt relacement. What else to replace?
Hi everyone. First post on the forum. Thanks to everyone for sharing their knowledge, this forum has taught me so much and saved me big$$$. So, I'm having my timing belt replaced this week. I feel it is a little above my mechanic ability at this time plus I have a local Subaru mechanic that charges ...
