Next project.....
I have no idea where to post this. I have been off this site a while. Car projects are at a stand still till it gets a little warmer. I have an idea for a furture summer project. In a nut shell, if I got my hands on a 95 ish manual impreza and swapped over the EJ22T motor, kept the trans. That would...

Hey WRXdan, how does your car respond with the 4.44 gearing on the low end? How about on the highway? If you had to do it over again, would you go with the 4.44 gearing or do you think the 4.111 would be better? 4.44 all the way. It's a stump puller at low end, but the sweet spot is still around 3K...

Too much boost??
Hmmm...I don't have the IC on my legacy currently because I'm toying with water injection idea...but I also want a little more zip. Do you think running 10-12 PSI is bad news without IC. I'm running 93 octane. And need to wire a FCD..... A last gen prelude ran me the other day. It had the typical ri...

ooh cool! i want it too! Hey dan, did we come up with some answers on a new dropping resistor thingie? Let me know what to look for/ask for and I'll find what you can't.. I started to look for a vacuume switch to make a home made smallcar setup. That sounds like the best way to do it. I'm not in a ...

I'm not positive, but I think he's describing a way to remove a stud. If you put two nuts on the stud, and cinch them up tightly against each other, you can use the lower one to turn the stud and extract it. This is correct..but becareful not to back the nut against the bell housing. The nut could ...

I'll rock better if my tranny wasn't so limp:) The drop resistor has 4 leads (i think). I hope one set is for upshifts and the other is for downshifts. Then you could use two different resistor to keep the stock downshifts. But I know very little about how the resistor works and could be dreaming. I...

Back from the dead..
Anyone still running a different drop resistor on their 4EAT? I searched old threads and it seem like an okay mod if you find the correct resistor to use. Any further info???

Trans temp sensor...
It's cold here again, and I also re-did my trans cooler line. Refresh my memory. When the trans fluid is below temp it keeps the trans out of 4th. Correct? When I first started home from work I had trouble getting the car to shift into 3rd or 4th. Maybe it need to check my fluid level or my brakeban...

so would adjusting the brake band be the thing then? I kinda thought about that, but i wasn't sure.. the tranny is really the last thing i wanna mess with... THAT scares me. Dan: are you talking about shifts when its in D, or literally, 1-2, 2-3, manual-style? I've found that right now, D provides ...
