I ran 8/11 psi on my car for almost a year, without an intercooler (dual stage boost controller) I found that with my occasional spike i would hit about 12-13psi... as said before for a second or so (when set to 2nd stage boost). that year of driving equates to roughly 60000km. never had any issues....

finn: lol, yes... otherwise driving would be boring :D I have been told that i tend to speed occasionally... but then again i say the wife doesn't drive, so her opinion doesn't count... lol at 10psi it's got better response and top end then the original turbo at high boost. at 15psi it pushes your b...

Ben i was thinking about the ss lines... where did you get yours from... or are they just taken from a WRX? i remember you saying something about the upgraded brake booster... as it stands now... mine isn't spongy grabs great... but if it's something straight forward enough, i'm up for it. now where...

To clarify a couple of things (just to make sure we're all on the same page)... i didn't mean diameter of the rotors... i mean the thickness. ie... are some afttermarket rotors thicker then stock? wouldn't that resist warping more? more material means stronger? by Brembo's i didn't mean STI brakes.....

interesting thread... with the bigger turbo and intercooler, i really am starting to look for something bigger and better in terms of brakes... if i go with Brembo's or something similar in stock size... i can get thicker rotors that will hold up to warping better, but the car won't stop any faster....

what are the offset of the rims?

i have 215/40/18 on mine... but the offset is like 45 or maybe even 38

my rears are starting to rub, and i will need to roll the inner fenders a bit.

hehehe, i think i figured out why they're bugging me so much... would it be the brake booster? the higher the psi in the manifold, the stronger the brakes apply pressure? don't know if that's how it works, but when i'm braking from higher speed and higher boost it seems to vibrate almost immediately...

turbosmart e-boost = electronic boost controller/gauge. an electronic send unit sits in the engine bay and sends a signal to a gauge inside the cabin. Other ones i know of are the Greddy and TurboXS systems greddy e-manage system (i think NICO I WRX U, has one for sale) same principle as above, but ...

i remember reading somewhere not to T it off the passenger side front intake "arm"... as this could cause problems with the MAP sensor or something to that effect. The way that i did it, and from what i can see in a lot of the engine pics here is T off of the vaccuum line for the BOV/BPV. ...

Subtle, what injectors are you running? I'm installing my vf34 and intercooler this weekend, was planning on running stock injectors for the time being, with the plan to upgrade injectors to larger, and doing a protune all at the same time... say probably about 2 months down the line.

odd squeak from rear springs?

I am hearing this odd squeak... sort sounds like the springs in the bed when you've been giving it a workout :D only happens in the rear, most easily noticed during HARD turns, but have occasionally heard it over a bump. never noticed the noise before... when i was on 15" rims and tires. if it ...

hmmm, what about the pressure sensor?

i know when i first started screwing around with mods, the hose that ran to my pressure sensor was a little loose, and anytime there was a load, it would read faulty and everything would cut out. replaced it with a tighter fitting hose and all was fine.
