well. the guy is selling custom made CP pistons, with a set of Cometics that from what i can gather are thinner, in order to bring up the c/r for WRX heads. He tells me the C/r with the WRX heads will be around 8.5:1. heads are coming off the ej20 i had in the car which threw a rod bearing. I don't ...

WRX heads vs. JDM ej20g

i am planning to build a EJ22T with new rods and pistons, then top it all off with JDM EJ20G heads (i think they are ej20G heads). I have been talking with a guy who is selling CP pistons, and Cometic gaskets, which i believe to be thinner in order to bring the compression ratio back to liveable num...

From the looks of this...you are using: Eagle Rods Wiseco Pistons (only ones available for the ej22) Clevite Bearings how did you find the fitment and tolerances of the Clevittes?? I'm looking at building the identical motor to yours, I'm debating between Clevittes, stock subarus, and Cosworths for ...

i ended up using the JECS MAF sensor off a 95 Legacy Wagon. Works just fine.

I had the car running without a problem and no check engine lights.

I used 2 legacy turbo Ignitors to fire the Coil Packs.

well...it was actually gary's car (inzomniac). But it's not residing in my Driveway, waiting to be swapped into my 85 RX!! anyways...this car is running off the Stock Legacy Turbo Computer, and stock wiring harness. I have all the wiring diagrams and pin outs printed beside me...I then made an excel...

Extremely Cheap FCD!!

Well i had the problem when i turboed my justy. The MAP sensor was cutting fuel at 7 PSI, as it was giving more than 5 Volts.

So....Off to the electronics store, and picked up at 4.7V zener diode. Soldered it between the ECU Signal line, and the Ground.

Cost me $0.15 total.

the reason you only get 12 PSI at full throttle and 15 PSI at full throttle is because of your boost controller. You are bleeding off too much pressure, and the Wastegate actuator does not have enough pressure holding it closed. So what's happening is the exhaust gases are blowing the wastegate open...

Dude.. we just finished this conversion. we dropped an EJ20G into a 1991 Legacy Turbo Here's what we learned. the EJ22T intake manifold WILL NOT bolt up to the ej20G block. The inlet runners from the EJ20G are HUGE compared to the EJ22 and bigger in all respects. We switched over the EJ22 wiring har...

lets see. We are running full 2.25 inch cat-less exhaust (it's a little loud) We have done away with the stock air-box, and replaced it with about a 10 inch long K&N Cone filter. With a custom Air Flow straigtener placed infront of the Mass Air Flow Sensor. We also removed all the PVC System, an...

yeah....it's a little quick

I actually drove the car today.

runs 15PSI spike and drops down to about 12-13 which is perfect.

I was able to spin all 4 in 1st, and a little in 2nd.

Alot faster than Inzomniac's Legacy with minor mods.

nope no fancy crap. We are playing around with a potentiometer in the Water Temperature Sensor line to richen the fuel mixture. Along with a cheap Manual boost controller, Cone Filter, and an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. Plus we normally just run race gas (98 or 100 octane) as "cheap&quo...

to be honest. i'm not completely sure to answer your question. We had just got the Turbosmart BOV on his car when i received a phone call which i had to attent to immediately. I told Gary to adjust as he saw fit, but i'm not sure it was completely nessesary. With no shims in the BOV you could hear i...

Gary probably is the most cautious person i've ever met. Heck he wouldn't even let me put in his boost gauge until he went to the bathroom and i already had it almost completely finished. Anyways. i was prolly a little overboard as well. I'm just not a fan of people telling you it won't work, when t...

ok. you guys are wrong (except Inzomniac) I guess you can call me Inzomniac's Personal Mechanic about now, after numerous suspension installs, clutch install, crank pulley install, and just about everything else on his car. including his BOV. Anyways...The first BOV he had didn't work because it was...

most if not all BOV's (loud ones) have adjustment screws on them that allow you to adjust the tension of the spring depending on your car. personally i'm not sure if i completely understand either. a re-circ BOV, recirculates the air, and puts it back into the intake track, right before the turbo. Y...

cheap??

Listen....if you feel like spending an extra 150 bucks for some fancy blue mountings, and a spiffy "CUSCO" sticker on your cross bar...by all means....go for it...if you got the cash. However...i'm the one assisted in the install of these bars on Gary's car, and they are anything but weak....
