softer suspension is also helpful in the wet or snow... that said does anyone know of some reasonable quality ground control style coilovers, ie the threaded collar ones that slip over the strut? was thinking of getting some of those for the height adjustability. not only that race springs 2.5"...

I'd build a badass prerunner type truck, maybe a 1st gen 4runner. destroked 400 sbc maybe with a turbo, 2 feet of a-arm travel with coilovers, 35" tires, full cage, nice stereo.
from the factory Id take a nissan stagea, basically a skyline wagon.

what to pay for ej22t?

I just called aaron's auto and they quoted me 995 for an unknown mileage ej22t and 795 for a manual trans!!
that seems really high. to those who bought their engine, what did you pay? Im trying to start sourcing parts for a ej22t/5mt swap.

bike racks

I need to get a bike rack for my legacy wagon. Im sick of throwing my bike in and out of the tailgate, it gets the carpet dirty and scratches up the plastic back there. Im debating wether to get a roof rack type or a tailgate mount type. maybe evven a trailer hitch mount type! I would rather go for ...

however, anyone whos ever driven a vanagon knows that they are seriously lacking power. that ones AT no less! anything to get them moving better is good in my book. :P

it appears that the threaded collar part attaches to the strut with a single set screw. unless I am wrong, I am surprised they would even hold a car up much less over bumps  with 300+ spring rates. definitely not getting em.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2463110329&category=33582 they obviously arent very good quality, but I spoke with the seller and the spring rates are 350# front, 300# rear. seems like these could be an ok setup unless the collars are total garbage, anyone seen ...

worst hands down would be f 250 at my work. its the company trash truck for small remodel business, so it has led a pretty hard life. no radio, 351 smokes like a chimney, zf 5spd has not much synchros left so tranny grinds really bad and sometimes jumps out of gear. alignment is off and pulls really...

VW has had awd programs in the past. Called synchro, it was on everything from vanagons to the mighty rallye golf. it was pretty much your standard viscous coupling. came on regular mk 2 golfs, rallye golfs(supercharged 1.8 8v, aka g60), g60 passats, quantums(pretty much an audi), and vanagons.
