you realize you just posted your address for the whole world to see right? I don't know but I think mine has been posted in an old thing called the phone book for about, oh 42 years now! That is kind of like all the blurred out license plate numbers, never made any sense to me, not too hard to put ...

I got it together. Stayed up Sunday night after I dropped the kids off at their mothers till 5:00 AM then realized DMV was not open on Monday due to MLK. I even spent the whole weekend talking all about him to my kids, and it never crossed my mind. It would not start then I looked into the back and ...

WTB: cover behind rear seat 97 OBW
I need a retracting cover for the rear storage area on my 97 Outback Wagon. Gray interior. feel free to contact me at miatapaul at gmail dot com. Would prefer local Hudson Valley. Will be stopping by some local junk yards in a few weeks but would rather give a member a few shekels.

I think they only way to make this work is to replace the entire brake line. Not a happy thing, as it entails removing the carpet. I have a 91 with a broken line, and it has sat in my garage for over a year now with me trying to decide if I want to part it out or junk it. To top it off it has decide...

Really low compression on one cly.
OK so I got my car that I was told needs a new head gasket. It is misfiring bad. I can disconnect the fuel injector and it makes no difference in the idle. I ran a compression test and here are the results: CLY 1 185PSI CLY 2 60PSI CLY 3 185PSI CLY 4 165PSI So my question is is 60 psi normal for a b...

90 legacy 5 speed into a 97 obw auto?
Ok while looking at a 96 OBW that had body damage I found a much better 1997 with a bad head gasket. I have a 1991 Legacy AWD 5 speed. I know the motor will be basically a plug and play swap, but what about the auto to 5 speed swap? How hard would it be? I am thinking I may try some Rally Cross with...

There is a simple answer, call GC. They are extremely helpful. I know some one who did a custom ford 5.0 drop into a Miata. He fabed every thing out himself and Ground Control calculated the correct spring rates for him. They did not charge extra for the service either. They took into account the ty...

91 legacy control arm on a 96 OBW?
Ok I am looking at a 1996 OBW that has had a small collision in the front right corner. The fender has some minor crumpling. The big issue is that the lower control arm is bent. I have a 1990 parts legacy in the garage and was wondering if the control arm is the same. I know the springs and struts a...

Another auto to manual swap question
Ok here is the deal. I have a dead 1991 awd LX that is rusted beyond what I am willing to drive(and that says a lot as I will drive anything). Brake lines are rusted out in several spots, and it will not start. I can get a 1996 Outback wagon for a really good price. It needs some work as it had a tr...

One other thing, what is the size of the brake line? will i need to know this when I get the replacement line. They sure look thiner than the lines on my MG that I had to replace one of the front lines, but that was a flaired fitting, and it was all open. How I miss the simplisity of that design, to...

The design of the Subaru master clynder does not really isolate the 2 circuits very well, IMHO. There does not seem to be much of a dividing wall to seperate the two halves. once one side leaks down it just draws out most of the fluid from the system. There is not really enough fluid left to operate...

brake lines
I pulled my 1991 Subaru AWD 5Spd Legacy out of it's summer slumber (winter replacement for the Miata) and found it to have a leaking brake line. I have not found the exact leak location, but the fluid flows over the gas tank on the passenger side. How hard is this to fix, It looks like i Will have t...

Only thing I can say is that it sucks. I have one piece of advice, go to work and do your best the last few days. I got a referral from my last job (4 days notice IBM sucks as well) because I worked hard on my last days. That was the second time I got laid off from IBM the first time I got laid off ...

Re: What should I do?
Well, I guess it had to happen eventually, but my trans. just blew so now I some choices to make. Either attempt to put a FWD 5MT in it, or part it out. The motor runs really good, but who knows how much time it has left, so I would be reluctant to put it in another car, plus I can't afford another...
