there is a big difference between 04 and 05-07.

The 05-07 front struts don't fit.

This is because the front hubs and bearings were upgraded for 05 and everything is bigger.

Really, the only way to get them to fit is to find a set of 04 (or older inverted sti) front struts, and swap everything ...

What ever you do, don't have the bores machined to Wiseco's recommendation. It WILL be louder than what you will be happy with and may cause issues with your knock sensor. "Idle Air Control Valve" - It is just that. It's a valve operated by a duty cycle to achieve a certain RPM for idle and to compensate for high voltage situations and/or air conditioning drag. So if it was bad, then it could cause the situation that he/she is having.

Do you have a CEL on? Possibly an IACV would be my guess. Either a sticking and/or bad IACV.

I don't see how it would be different. Check the FSM that's posted on here to be certain, that or go to a junk yard and give them a few bucks for one.

Bad connection if the fuse is fine. Now tracking it down might be fun.

If yours is a pull type clutch and hydraulic then yes, it would be the same.

I would almost certainly think that you've got a bad (incorrect) reading compression test gauge since all 4 cylinders are similar. These motors AFAIK never read that poorly even with 220k miles.

Concerning the springs - Are the Intrax springs that you are looking at for the Legacy specifically? I've got a set from an 02-03 WRX on my Legacy and the drop for that car is 1.5"(F)/1.3"(R)

I wouldn't get too excited. You can try anything you want but running injectors that flow twice as much as what's expected by the ECU is not going to happen.

I'm thinking it looks like it'll bump up to the strut tower and/or firewall? The one I created for a newage WRX/STi (which has more room than these older Legacys) and it was a lot closer to the motor and intake manifold but still not a lot of room.

Turbo? I'd say any of the following that you can get used; MHI 16/18/20G (w/ TDO5H turbine) or VF22/VF23/VF30/VF34 and even a VF39 though you will not get as much out of it.

Greddy eManage is what I'd do in your shoes, either the blue w/ignition or an Ultimate model. They work really well ...

Well, thats about what I was getting (11.5 :1) but it was RAGGED.

Timing is whatever the NA ecu was shooting, with about 4-6 degrees pulled.

Its really a moot point at this stage. I obviously had fuel system issues, so all ideas are theorys for now.

Was shooting for 11-1 or so. But couldnt get there due to the filter most likely.

You'll be a lot better off at 12:1 using gas AFR. That will greatly extend your fuel injectors too. 11:1 is probably just too rich. How does your timing look? Can you post an image of your timing map and ...

So how many with modded red injectors have flow tested them? I find it hard to believe that they only flow around 550cc. All of the other hacked stock injectors so far have flowed around 700-900cc + depending on what fluid they were tested with.
