Re: '94 LGT (BF) rear hatch FS in MN

Bump. Apparently I was not as subscribed to this post as I thought....but it was red and the driver's handle was broken.... Silver03, the '94 GT had a raised roof like the outbacks of the next generations, and therefore the rear hatch is a different shape... Shell finally went off to be crushed. But...

Re: TLeg 4EAT Mods

Thanks Dan! Should have known you'd be the one to know. Yea, that diff is pretty pricey, but there's a Modena torsion front diff in the 5MT in Izzy's rally car. That trans has some seriously hard miles on it (broken shift fork, R&P teeth sharpened, both front bearing locating pins broken), and t...

Re: '94 LGT (BF) rear hatch FS in MN

bump. partout is on. Shell will be gone before too long. We will hang onto this rear hatch though. It's now at my parents house just west of Minneapolis, MN. But he drives all over the country (retired bastard!). Also, I'm crew chief for a rally america team, so we'll be traveling, probably with roo...

TLeg 4EAT Mods

Got a project in the planning stages. We've decided, for reliability and cost, we're going 4EAT. Power will start in the 270 range, at the crank. Might be more later. There's a guy over on USMB who figured out how to solder a programmable EEPROM chip to a first-gen legacy TCU. He then re-w...

'94 LGT (BF) rear hatch FS in MN

My dad's car. chassis is very rusty, transmission just died, and we have decided the car is not worth saving, almost any parts worth saving will be saved to go towards it's replacement. But this hatch is definitely rare, and still usable. We always said, if we ever found one of these hatches for sal...

'90 22e Heads/Cams by Delta and phenolic spacers

originally destined for my supercharged 2.2, but I'm going a different direction.... As the title states, they're 2.2 heads from a 1990 legacy. They were sent off to Delta Cams for a complete rebuild, mild port/polish, and torque-grind cams. they have been test-fitted to my short block, but the head...

can you put a 4.44 front diff in it? yes, you can. BUT, AFAIK 4.111 or 4.444 ring gears will have to machined down a bit to clear the low range gears (this might only be true if you're using the 1.59:1 lo range). I would highly recommend searching australian sites (like Ausubaru.com) for more info ...

nope. only linkage is the hi-lo cable. something to shift it would need to be fabbed.

FS-MN: Australian Dual-Range EJ 5MT

AFAIK, the only one brought to North America. functions just like a standard EJ 5MT with a viscous center LSD etc. but, it also has a 1.196:1 lo-range reduction on the input shaft selected by a cable. it's like being able to switch from a 3.90 axle ratio to a 4.65 on the fly. great for short-track r...

found a pdf of the parts book I have:

I'm starting to think it's a typo :(

clutch cover part number confirmation...

was flipping through my parts quick reference book, and found something crazy. XT6 and 91-94 legacy turbo's have the same part number listed for the clutch cover: 30210aa100 I googled it, and found mostly XT6 references, but I did find a post on scoobynet listing that part number for an EJ207: http:...

an AWD 5MT will not move almost at all with a broken front axle (it will behave very much like an almost completely failed clutch, it'll try to move, but it won't). if the car can move without one the center diff is fried (the chicken or the egg?).

cable-type legacy clutch suggestions?

apologies....I'm kind of a newb at EJ-series clutch setups. wasn't planning on running one until a deal on a Liberty GX trans came up..... basic setup: '90 EJ22e. stock CR Eaton M62 supercharger head/cam work standalone '93 Aussie Liberty GX tranny (cable clutch just like USDM legacies). don't think...

The EA82t is probably the least reliable subaru motor ever made. they definitely tried too hard with it. That said, it's still better than most motors out there. as for upgrades. well, it's on the same platform as my loyale..... http://www.numbchuxconversions.com/Files/Media/Frankenwagon/PICT3397.JPG

excellent information, thanks! I was already planning on running a PCI/GMB timing belt/water pump kit from ebay. I've used those before with good luck. I would replace the rings. Use NPR rings. I'm leaning more towards this. the engine is low mileage enough that I probably won't have to worry about bearings. and i really don't want to split the case. got a good source for NPRs? I've searched around online, and not seen them for subarus at all....

EJ22e rebuild - advice?

so, I'm rebuilding a '90 EJ22e to receive a few psi of belt-driven boost (thanks to a Mercedes Eaton M62 like reddevil's setup) and be dropped in my wagon. not looking for a power build, as I don't think I'll be pushing this motor past 200awhp. more like 150-175 this time around. So...first thing's ...

today I swapped #2 and #4 plug wires. and pumped some SeaFoam through it. with zero change. I bought some new NGK plugs, and have another coil and igniter (although I'm hesitant to suspect either, as I bet the wasted spark design would cause a misfire on #4 as well) to try tomorrow. I will also try ...

'96 Legacy Outback Wagon, 4EAT, DOHC EJ25D, 126k miles. mysterious rough-running, stumbling, etc. only while under load (not necessarily driving, but never does it in park or neutral). noticeably aggravated by the A/C compressor (symptoms come and go as the compressor cycles on and off), although so...

Value of '94 LGT side skirts?

so, my dad has a '94 BF LGT wagon. I've never seen another like it in person, so they must be somewhat rare. anyway, I was just contacted by someone who's interested in buying the side skirts from it. now, we're not attached to them, as here in the rust belt, they just trap the salt/snow next to the...
