tranny cooler

Are clogs ever a concern for the tranny cooler? Anyone ever taken one apart? I guess since I have a 96 legacy, I don't have to worry about the auxilliary tranny filter, but why does do the lines dissapear under the battery like in the photo? I sense something is wrong with my tranny, but it's too co...

compressor or vac leak?

Sometimes I notice while sitting at traffic lights a click, similar to the a/c compressor or perhaps a climate control thingy clicking on. I have the a/c button set to OFF. RPM increases a few hundred (up to around 1k). It's very annoying as it causes vibration. It's especially noticeable when the e...

in my 96 the seats fold down with a strap attached to the latch. The strap was buried so deep in the seat crevice it took like 2 screwdrivers and too much effort just to fish them out. I don't know about 94, if you look from the trunk and there are these latches that have a lock switch then they def...

torque-bind

good thing I came accross that page. My mother has a 96 impreza, and it has the exact same tranny/engine as my 96 legacy, and it seems like her car is having that binding problem. I've been worried about it. Is it something I should take care of? Never done much tranny work, does it take a long time...

broken bolt in tranny case... YAY!!! TWO of them!

I WAS USING A TORQUE WRENCH TOO. FORGIVING FOR YELLING BUT I AM PISSED. I'VE SPENT WAY TOO MUCH TIME JUST TRYING TO CHANGE THIS FILTER. It was a cheap torque wrench too big for the application, but I still don't htink it should have happened. To get stubborn bolts out I've pounded a notch in the hea...

tranny filter... new to subaru. and autos.

i'm forced to change the filter, i've finally got the pan off but how do you get the filter off? there is a metal line in the way, and no apparent way to get it loose. it's a 96 legacy. how are you supposed to do it?

tranny problem. long. help.

I was moving 300 miles when my right rear tire exploded at 150 miles. So i put on the spare and drove the rest of the way on it (at 50mph of course.) I knew that couldn't be good for the differential, but it was last sunday and I had to be there. It took a while to get new tires, I had to get the ch...

yeah, but i didn't see prices. I want this to be economical, as the auto seems to be wearing out. I don't have a turbo either, mine's a 96 legacy sedan NA. Plus i didn't realize that was the same person that did this site.
