Re: Model Interchageability Upgrades

This thread should be about parts that don't fit. There are so many things that will swap over it's not funny.

Any resolve to the issue? I'm also throwing another vote in for timing off a tooth.

Re: Machining flywheel for 9" WRX clutch disk. VS 8-7/8" sto

It will be fine, when you get the flywheel resurfaced they'll machine down the entire face, so the larger disk will engage evenly across the surface of the flywheel. Most people that install the WRX clutch don't have this issue, but if there were enough wear to allow for a difference in hight on the...

Compatable? No. Will it fit? Yes. As mentioned, you'll have to swap everything over. There are a lot of differences between turbo and non turbo transmissions.

Re: Clutch woes 02-05 wrx 6 puck clutch installed in 92 ss

What kind of clutch? Did you resurface the flywheel when you put the new clutch in? The WRX clutch disk has more surface area than the SS. If you didn't resurface it, you're clutch is probably on the lip of the flywheel that hasn't been touched by a clutch disk before. Clutch fork should have nothin...

Re: hello i need some help with my trany

Like Josh said, it may be a bit more work than you're prepared for. If it pops out of gear, it could be a loose main shaft nut. You'd need to pull the tailshaft and transfer case just to even check it. It's probably going to be quicker and cheaper to just get another transmission.

Re: Qusetion about potentioal next car.

No, it will not swap in place. The 99 has a transmission from the Phase 2 change over. A lot of stuff is different.

Physically it will fit, but the electronics will not match.

How many miles are on the car? Is it low on trans fluid?

Re: 2001 forester vlsd to 3.9 legacySS conversion questions

Got a vlsd rear diff today off a 2001 Forester, and going to do the steps to convert to my 94SS. 1. I need to take the center guts out of the Forester case, take the 3.9 ring gear off my 944SS, and bolt to the guts, then reinstall in the Legacy SS case, that way ring gear and pinion gear are paired...

Advanced Auto Parts. They use this stuff for sealing windshields in cars. I've had good luck with it holding up once the surface has been well prepped.

Urethane filled transmission mount! 3M Window Weld Liquid Urethane. You can see that one of the bolts is different. I managed to snap the stud when I removed it from the car. Oh well. Take a look at the before and after though. It's rock solid. I also shot some into the rear diff bushings. http://im...

Re: Need opinions - looking at buying a 93 L

Hmmm. It does seem very clean, but the price is VERY high especially for a FWD car. Would you consider changing the timing belt yourself? If so, it wouldn't really worry me too much. The 2.2L in that car is non interference, so if it goes you just have to put a new belt back on. Really more of an in...

Not to sound like a dick, but it doesn't seem you have any idea what you're getting into. You really should research similar swaps. Myself and others have documented NA to turbo wiring swaps in several threads. Unless you have a good grasp as to how the engine management system works and integrates ...
